Charcoal is dope. Not a lot of fire. Propane burns BBQ or whatever your cooking pretty fast.

How much are you paying?

I usually run the tank empty and head down the street (5 minute drive) for a refill. On average, I'm paying $14/$15 for a refill. Lost I've paid is $13 and the most I've paid is $16. I think for a while, they were charging a flat-rate $13 refill too!

I think petro charges about $25+taxes for a cylinder exchange.

Wow. I don't do the cylinder exchange. I simply get my cylinder refilled. Hurray for being cheap and Chinese.

Use low heat or only turn on one side and put the meat on the other side.

I did a refill last week, it was like $19.95 or something like that. I only go to them because they're the closest to my house.

Oh, and you're on the Island so limited choices. I'm lucky that Superstore is literally a 5 minute drive away from my house, otherwise I'm stuck with Petro Canada as well.

When you do a tank exchange check the date stamped on it. Last tank exchange I did I got shafted. One year after getting it, it had already expired obviously someone forgot to restamp a new date on it.

Western Red Cedar planks, ftw.

I love my Weber Genesis.

Miss the days of flare ups - NOT!

I refill and avoid exchanges. The only time I exchange tank is when the tank is outdated and nobody will fill it (against the law). I take the outdated tank to Home Depot and carefully pick out the newest ones. In fact, I wanted a spare tank, so I went to the Burnaby recycling depot and picked up one that was thrown out and exchanged it for one that was brand new at Home Depot, LOL. The people at Home depot don't know any better or care. In North Burnaby, there aren't any propane places left. I used to go to the gas station by the Lake City Skytrain Station, but they're gone. The only place left is the Mohawk on Canada Way and Smithe. I forgot about Superstore on Rupert. They have the best price by far. Thanks for the reminder, bcrdukes.

This thread is great, I have two questions. When cooking a beef patty/steak which do you prefer, charcoal or propane? Next question, whenever I cook patties on a propane grill they always end up turning into a ballon and popping but staying in a deformed shape. And I think its on low heat to. What can I do to stop it?
