Volunteering for Olympics? How many of you SERIOUSLY want t volunteer for the Olympics? I know I will sign up when the time comes (2008) - whether I get it is another story :p |
i'd like to, but its so hard to plan ahead. i don't know where i'm gonna be/what i'm gonna be doing in seven years time. but if i'm still here in vancouver and all is well - then for sure, i'd volunteer :) |
lol hehehheheh i signed up to do that but i doubt i will end up doing it iono ha yea too far away to know ehhe didja sign up at the chinese new yrs fair at pne? |
i think it would be great! :) |
I'll be an usher at all the hockey games :D |
its going to be REALLY hard to get it, so even though you really want it; Whether the Olympic organizers want you or not is a different story. |

I would. Speaking of the topic of whether it's hard to get into voluteering at a large international sports event......I think it might not be as hard as you think. I have a friend who volunteered at the games for the 2002 World Cup in Japan. She got to watch some games too.....hehe :) |
I wanna be the stick boy for the Canadian National Hockey team. Oh man, that would be fucking awesome. "Hey Bert, Iginla, Simon Gagne, Brandon Reid...50-year old Mark Messier..." |
maybe you have to pay them to work for them lol |

Brandon Reid? bwahaha. by the time 2010 rolls around most of the all star nhl players playin now would be retired or too old to play |

there was another huge event like this, can't remember what.. but so many people wanted to volunteer, that the volunteers had to PAY... why do you want to volunteer? if it's because you just want to get in for free or have a good view, then okay at least you're being honest. but there are a lot of people out there that say they want to volunteer for this "to do their part" or something which is bs, because these people are rarely the ones that volunteer their time elsewhere. |
aren't you getting WAY ahead of yourself here? the olympics isn't for another 7 years! who knows what will happen in 7 years |
bump! anyone? |

here we are...after 7 years  |
no kidding. one of my good friends works for vanoc and is in charge of all the volunteers. 7 years ago neither of us would never have imagined it. |

Is it too late to be a volunteer?.. |
i heard those volunteering at opening/closingn ceremony (set-up/decorating) are forced to leave when it starts so they cant see it for free lol |
