yikes buddy, shes definately not fully streetable. Have you tried andy's wheel alignments in kelowna here... Theirs are direct drive on, completely flat. They would be my first reccomendations.

edit* forgot to mention, that not only are they completely flat but there is no center so there is nothing to get hung up on.

oh it definately should settle many things down in the car. If you don't have time, let me know i might be able to swing by andy's and snap a pic of their alignment rack

theres a few places with a non-ramp style allignment set up. one place in westbank for sure, probably some in kelowna too you'd imagin. drive strait on, no ramps, they use a pit instead. then lift from underneath, and thats it. all is good.

Ran the wires for this...

Didnt get all the wiring done or be able to fasten it yet 'cause i was helping a buddy install a cd play and whatnot in his car. My car goes into KPC to get the front end damage repaired and i'll be rollin in a loaner for the most part of the week. I'll finish it when i get the bitch back. haha

Nice. Alpine makes the best decks IMHO, what model did you get?

CDA-9827

only 18W RMS, but it goes plenty loud enough for my tastes. at the higher volumes (above what i would listen to it at anyway) the speakers start to distort (stock speakers still), so if i upgraded those the deck would still, be plenty, imo.

Running off deck power is BLAH anyways.

cool. if you listen to music loud most of the time i would definatly run an external amp for your speakers. distortion is caused by heat and that is the #1 thind that kills stereo equipment. Does damage to the speaker and the unit itself.

can you clarify? distortion in the speakers is caused by heat from the deck because of the deck having to amplify too much?

i don't listen to the music loud enough to distort the speakers, so it's really a non-issue. but just out of curiosity, if you get an amp then you can set it up so the deck doesn't do any amplifying or what?

sorry, i'm a noob at this stuff.

Exactly, many things can be a factor of distortion. But mainly it just comes down to overloading/working an amplifier past its capabilities.
What happens is this. When you drive a speaker with anything, amp from cd player or external amp it creates heat regardless. And with that you get distortion, the more heat, the more distortion you get also the more distortion, the more heat you get. Its one neverending circle. Now with the amp that is built into the cd player you are maybe getting 6-7w rms at a rating of about .1% distortion(at a normal low listening level). When you turn it up louder it drives harder so that amp will put out the 25watts per channel(realistically that is the max amount of power a cd player will put out due to the fact that they are limited by battery voltage of 12v regardless of if it says 50x4*bullshit* on the faceplate) but the distortion level would be in the 30% + range. What will happen is your speakers will become damaged due to the heat being created and it cooks the voice coil and motor structure and the amp in the deck will also become damaged just from being "overloaded" so to speak. Next time you take off your faceplate notice how warm/hot the cd player and faceplate are then think about that tiny little amp in there thats driving your speakers. An external amp a bit bigger than the size of a cd player will put out about 25-35w rms but it will be quite a low distortion level and it has better heat dissipation due to the external heatsink and lack of anything other than the power supply. So with an external amp you have cleaner, louder sound at any volume.

Yeah. what you do is get an amp, wiring kit, and 2 sets of RCA cables(1 for front, and 1 for rear) those go off your cd player rca terminals that are accordingly labeled on the back. They send the audio signal to the amp where ever it be mounted and the amp does all the work from there to drive you speakers and take alot ofthe work from the cd player... all the player would have to do is play the cd and send the signal.

Good Writings there saturn.

when companies like sony and stuff say 60x4. thats playing like a 1khz note with enough distortion to scare osama bin ladin from his cave. 18x4 rms is a good amount of clean deck power.

Took the 125 into the shop to get her a new set of clutch plates/springs, and new rear shoes. Also welded the muffler back together last night and a hot molten shaving burnt a hole into my hand
