Saw a Peugeot 406...

What's the story behind this car? How was it able to get into the country? Beautiful car, wow!

The new 406's are in Canada.

206's and 306's are not.

I didn't think there was a peugoet dealer in BC though.

carmaniac 07-22-2005 06:47 AM

I believe it was a diplomat's car before. How it has normal plates on it now I don't understand...

Jackwimmer 07-22-2005 08:35 AM

lol if u go to other countries, those cars are as common as civics or even worst

too_slow 07-22-2005 10:26 AM

^Hey that's the same car I always see in West Vancouver.. I even saw an Alfra Romeo 456 (i think that's what it's called).. the red little hatchback around the same area

I highly doubt this. Peugeot does not have a presence in North America at the moment.

That might be White Rock. It's an old Peugeot or Renault dealer from the time when they *were* sold here.

I've got the info, he's wrong.

That guy that brought it in was a diplomat, and last time i talked to him, he said he was thinking of selling it. He also has a 206CC. Got pics of it, but not in comp ><

Senna4ever 07-25-2005 02:30 PM

FINALLY! dammit someone else also saw a purple 406... i saw it 1-2 years ago in front of metrotown and no one believed me :o

dvandoormaal 04-29-2011 11:30 AM

I know this is a retardedly old thread but Ive seen this car too, and others and I WANT ANSWERS lol

Few months ago I saw a EUROPEAN 2005 Ford Ranger 2.5 TdCi with regular BC plates. Guy said he bought it off some guy that imported it from Germany but how the hell is that possible?

Second was only a few days ago and very relevant to this thread. At Burrard and W 4th going the other way in slow traffic was a early 2000's light blue Peugeot 406 with BC Olympic plates on it.

I heard of some shady importing a while back in Quebec with R33 Skylines but this almost seems like it could be legit and possible and if so I WANT IN!!

CorneringArtist 04-29-2011 04:53 PM

It's too soon for the Mexico 10-year-old rule. Only thing I can guess is diplomats selling their cars before they leave the country.

Solo_D33A 04-29-2011 08:32 PM

from what I heard, diplomats / international students that brought the car in have to take the car out as well...

achiam 04-30-2011 03:02 PM

Peugeots are AWESOME. My friends in France had one -- imagine a Civic like economy car with Audi build quality (but french)

tofu1413 04-30-2011 05:47 PM

there is a slight loophole in importation laws... hence the exsistance of this 406.
