nice shots but they are Steller's Jays. it is the provincial bird of British Columbia.

i'm seeing them all over too. i heard them long before i saw them, and i finally put the vocalizations to the bird that was doing that.
have not been out serious birding yet with my new camera. one day soon i hope.

Makes me sad following up Senna's posts. He's good.
Here is another hummer, this one is "wild" (no feeders, just went for a walk around Iona and found him around a bunch of flowers. It started raining after this shot, so didn't take anymore. Will go back again soon!

for the first time since i got my new camera, i had a chance to get out to 72nd and spend some time. however, weather was crap! i don't think i could have got my speeds up to capture any flyers with my f/5.6, then the rains came. all i got was a heron on a sign as i left:
