Yes, but the price difference almost seems to make it worth it...

Paradox: is it a ball & spring time or bleeder valve (have you read the ball&spring thread on the SOGI list?)

ball and spring... and nope i havent read that. maybe i'll look it up.

and as for spiking, i dont really care for now. the price was right, im just happy to have a little more control over my boost compared to a few washers on the wastegate -- hehe changing boost that way is a tad slower "yeah, i'll just yank off the entire intake, drop a few washers down the engine bay, fish around for those for a hour, yank out the wastegate and raise the boost! no prob!" well thats sorta what its like

yeah NashMan, did you ever figure that out? is it blown head gasket for sure?

atleast you've got a good chance to get everything taken apart and cleaned/polished. i know if i blow head gasket again im gonna get as much stuff painted and polished as possible.

i need more tools and a garage! arggh.. maybe i should stop blowing money on mods and start spending it on tools. haha

Heh, me too lately. Altho, I don't really know very much about them to start with.

You guys all seem like big car gurus to me, did you just pick it up as you go?

Heh, I'm ignorant but I wanna learn . It's kinda hard to pick up when people are talking about "FIPK", "EGT or AF gauge" and the like.

well if its any conselation to you, i was never much of a car freak until i got my supra... theres just so many possibilities and ways to change things and learn, its a totally addictive hobby.

most of the stuff you can learn from supraforums.com or the SOGi (www.supras.com) website, theres tons of places just to learn on the net. when i first got my car i never really thought of modifying it, then i looked at the SOGi website, went through some links and realized i had yet to begin -really- owning a supra.

anyways good luck to ya, any questions you have, just post em here, im sure one of us can help you out.

I'm calling BS on this...

If you take your 11hp per pound of boost on the stock CT-26, you're saying putting in NA pistons gives you an extra 44hp (the equivelent of cranking up your boost 4psi)

That's absolutely not true. I'm sorry, but it's not. Pistons from the NA will not give you 44hp, sorry...

Fuzebox is right i was saying this to you earlier nashman

Paradox don't go with a MKIV fuel pump go with the Walbro it is cheaper and better it is something like $100-$200 shipped i got the e-mail of the guy who does it some where here i'll see if i can find it!!

And a head gasket rebuild will probably cost you closer to $3000 to get it all done properly trust me i've done one, not on my car on a buddies' car and that was without lapping!

And the stock BOV in the Supra usually goes before the head gasket will around 25000 KM so just get a Porsche spec out of a 911 i can get them through the supra club for $32 plus taxes and they can handle up to 18psi easily it's cheaper and still does sound cool

if anyone wants one post it and i will order you one it usually takes 3-4 business days

How can a HG rebuild cost $3000? The part itself isn't more than $500... That's damn near 65hrs of labour at $40/hr

half the engine is the head and there are a lot of brackets to tear down and to get it machinede properly is important as well as to make sure a metal head gasket seats properly you should probably machine the block and lap it to give the gasket a smooth surface to seat into that is the most important part and i'm looking at worse case senario i'm a pesimist and i said closer to $3000 i didn't say $3000 exactly probably closer to $2500 sorry i'll be more clear next time

a freind of mine will change my head gasket for a stocker for $500. if i want a MHG, i canborrow/rent the lapping tool that reg reimer sells from a guy i talked to in the northern states, and lap the block myself. total cost wouldnt be more than $1000 total, with parts. and while the head is gettign machined, might as well replace valve seals, valve cover gaskets, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, etc.

deals are out there, you just have to look.

and nashman, the reason you and paradox post more is becuase you spend too much time on here hehe

last i remember my HG cost something like 2300 without the cost of the head gasket and bolts themselves.... so yeah that can get expensive.

i think im gonna go with the MKIV fuel pump, i ordered it awhile ago so its there and ready to go in. its also a easier install compared to the walbro, it can be put in without modifying the throttle body and such. im getting it for just over $200 canadian, so the price difference isnt much...

my cars already horrible enough on gas as is, i'll hate to see what this and injectors will do to its mileage.

my comption is kinda high it like 9.2 plus the the head has bean shaved befor and same whihtt he block

when turbo's run like 8.4

and this is all ture as well

btu theonly thing bad about this set up in my car is ummm i go though alot of gas/micky mouse type of setup

i pulled out my plugs and i am finding there there fireing rigth

one of my mec friend said i should get a evern better igntion system but i said will my plugs are not showing any thing bad so i don't think i will bother tell i turn the boost up

hell i am still runing like na cat back exhuast cat's bean gutted and free flow but still hold back power where's my down pipe enraged

that's because you have the saab one nashman it has a plastic flat flap the porsche one is metal and is a cylindrical wedge with a rubber gasket and can handle more boost then the saab one

my buddy has a saab one and it sounds different but not that bad yours sounds like you got a vaccum leak cause it shouldn't stutter

and fuzebox i don't have a mp3 of it
