Quick question. When you turn your cpl, it says you can achieve a diffrent effect... how does this work?
For CPL, I don't think you can achieve different effects just by turning it. It's LPL that you need to turn for a different effect. However, you can actually make the sky bluer if your camera is in a certain angle. Do a "nike" hand sign with your thumb and index finger. Point your thumb into the sun and your index finger will be aiming 45 degree away from the sun. If you take a picture around that area, the sky will be even bluer. Just a easy trick for ya.

for CPL (not just LPL), there will be different effects just by turning it. u can see the reflections fade in and out as well as the sky turn deeper in color and such

^^ I love that first picture... you know EXACTLY where to look. Great focus.

And then after you've read what's on the subject, your eyes start to wander, you don't see an immediate threat, and start to wonder what can be in those waters.

I love pictures that spark creativity and immagination, great job.

Good comp, too.

For xxx19: In my opinion, I think the the sign is to far off frame. It's just pushing 1/3's to more like 1/5th. Ontop of that, the angle the picture makes it a bit hard to read. It you moved more right and got it more straight on + bit of angle then it would of been a bit better.

^^ With your last shot, instead of using selective color, you should do the whole thing in black and white. She has a lot of freckles, and they detract from the picture. Try a color balance adjustment layer, check monochromatic, and use more green than anything, that helps with freckles and liver spots... I cant remember where I learned that.

The last shot I was jsut playing around with, I actually just used Hue/saturation, dropped the saturatin of the whole image to about 95 and increased the red saturdation to 90, and this was the result and I happened to like it, I am not too advanced in photoshop.

erm... I meant a channel mixer layer, not color balance. :S

Hey GranTurInj, you have my vote for the last picture. I like how you used the selective color.

I was at Gastown taking some photos this evening. Don't think it's spectacular, but thought I would share it anyway.

Interesting shot - the whole thing is quite crooked though, and the white balance is very far off. Cool idea though, I'd try it again, just make sure your tripod is level and white balance is correct (or fix in PS later)

That would also make her skin go dark and accentuate the small wrinkles around her eyes and mouth. A yellow filter would probably be best here, as it would also make the red roses more visible against the dark suit of the groom.

GranTurInj: what PP did you do to convert to B&W? The red roses of the groom should not blend in with the green of the leaves like that.
