BTW there are rumors that the Overeem/Lesnar fight is off. NSAC has Overeem on their 'agenda' on Monday. Dana is denying he's off the show
Being on the 'agenda' doesn't mean a failed drug test btw. Could be just a licensing thing, etc
Edit: some more info: "Brock & Overeem were both asked a few weeks ago to take a steroid test by the Nevada commission."
So I guess we are getting Brock vs MUR II

Don't know if this has been posted yet, but DW officially announced the 125 flyweight division into the UFC at the UFC 140 post fight presser.

Add to that the drug test right before he ran off to Holland in the middle of the camp, and that is why you have people talking.
Like I said, it's all rumor and speculation right now. We'll know for sure tomorrow. Nobody has told Brock he is fighting anyone other than Overeem. Until tomorrow, the fight is 100% ON.

Update on Overeem situation courtesy of Bloody Elbow:
Meeting starting with a discussion about out of competition drug testing, following up on a topic from a meeting in July of 2010, no relation to anything going on with
Lesnar and Overeem were contacted to have tests done. Lesnar went to a hospital to do it. Overeem "we'll deal with later" the commission says. Lesnar was clean.
Commission continued to discuss out-of-competition testing. Sounds like fighters will need to be tested within 48 hours of notification of a random test.
Vladimir Matyushenko got his license taken care of. He had doctor and trainer clearance. They mention that Vlady was the first main event fighter in the UFC in Nevada. Commissioners ask about his training program and he receives his license.
Same process for Jardine. Keith was asked about a 2010 suspension by Texas. He pushed an official by accident thinking it was a fan grabbing him on the way to the ring. He said he had a migraine that fight. Was asked if he was aware it could be life threatening. Also asked if he understands that Nevada does not condone shoving officials. Jardine is licensed.
November 17, Alistair Overeem was requested to take a test. Was told to set up a test no later than Friday of that week. The next day Lesnar requested to take his test at a hospital and they approved the idea. By Monday the 21st they still did not get the test taken nor contact the commission. Then were told that Overeem flew back to Holland.
Overeem took a test on the 23rd but it was the wrong test (was a blood test, not urine). That test came back normal.
Supposedly Overeem left town the same day (Nov 17) as the request for the test. The blood test was not indicative of any sort of abnormality, but was not a steroid test.
Overeem was sworn in under oath to answer questions about the situation. He apologized for the delay. Said there was a situation where his mother was not doing well so he moved camp back to Holland. Then said that it was his first fight in the UFC and said that testing in Holland is different.
Overeem said that his test on the 7th was done by his own doctor, not a testing facility.
They eventually asked straight out if he took efforts to delay or avoid the testing. Overeem said no and said he did everything his assistants told him to do.
Overeem said that he bought his plane ticket on the 15th, two days before being asked to take the test. That may be what seals his receiving a license.

I'm going to keep both threads open but this is the official warning. Anyone who posts spoilers in this thread will get points.
That means no "Wow!" or any of that shit on the night of a fight.
Use the other thread for chit chat and live fight discussions.
Sound fair?

Well for reasons beyond my comprehension this thread can't go bye bye. I don't like the idea of having one spoilerless thread as there are people who come in that don't want to be spoiled. You can say "fuck that their fault" but reality is if I wasn't modding the section I would be pissed if I got spoiled too. Hell I've been spoiled cuz I had to come in here and mod it. Just because you haven't seen the fights doesn't mean you don't want to talk about it. Should I rename the other thread "Live fight discussion" ?

can someone give me one good logical real world reason to this question?
why would someone need to come into this thread during or in the 2 hours after an event that a) isnt watching the event? and b) is interested in the event enough to be upset by knowing the results?
there is no reason that i can come up with why someone who is interested in the fights going on enough that seeing the results will be a problem, would need to be reading this thread during the fights.
9/10 people it isnt going to be an issue. and i dont care about some extraordinary set of circumstances.

Here's a clearer explanation of the Overeem situation:
Alistair Overeem was given a conditional license to face Brock Lesnar on 12/30 after an issue arose due to the timing of drug testing.
Overeem and Lesnar were both called on 11/17 and told to submit to an out of competition drug test by the end of the business day on 11/18. Brian Stegemen, a rep for Lesnar, said that because of where Lesnar lived in rural Minnesota, there was no place nearby for a test, but did go a hospital, got all his tests done on 11/21 and all his tests came back clean.
Nobody representing Overeem had even contacted the commisison as of 11/21. Overeem's representative was called at 2 p.m. on 11/17 and Overeem took a 6 p.m. flight out of Las Vegas to Holland to be with his mother who is battling cancer. Overeem testified he was unaware of the request to test him when he got on the plane and didn't get the word until several days later.
On 11/21, Keith Kizer of the Nevada commission called the UFC and informed them that he had not even heard from Overeem. Kizer was told Overeem was in Holland and would be tested. He took a blood test, not a urine test, on 11/23. A blood test would test elevated testerone levels but would not necessarily show use of any other anabolic steroid. It should be noted he was told to take a urine test, not a blood test, but he claimed he never was told which specific test to take. His blood test didn't show an illegal level of testosterone when the commission received the results on 11/30.
He was then told to take the urine test. Overeem did not take the test until 12/7. The results are not back in at this point.
The gist of the ruling is that the test on 12/7 has to come back clean, he has to take another urine test when he arrives in the U.S. for the fight, and the commission will randomly test him at least twice over the next six months. COLES NOTES:
-Overeem left the country the day they requested a urine test. claims he didn't know about the test
-Eventually gets around to doing a useless blood test instead of a urine test. claims he didn't know they specifically wanted urine
-2.5 weeks after the request, finally takes a urine test. we still don't have the results for it. Many of the injectable steroids they would have tested for would most likely be gone by this time, so he'll likely pass.
-Will have to take another urine test when he arrives for 141, and another after.
-Right now, he has a conditional license, so the fight is on
What a cluster fuck. IMO if Overeem was fighting for anyone other than UFC, we would have had a very different outcome. This makes Overeem, UFC, NSAC all look bad.
Not that I care. I just want to see 2 monster smashing each other in a few weeks

There have been a few times where I've missed events and I still managed to stay spoiler free until I got home to watch the fights afterwards.
All it takes is to stay off the internet and let your friends (the ones you know will text or call you bout the fights) know that you're watching it later.
