Jim Miller was a legit contender too. Nate has to be next in line.. I think he would kill Edgar, and probably Henderson too (that would be tougher)

Dominic Cruz pulls out of the Faber fight
UFC on FOX did a SHIT rating. Like worse than any of those EliteXC or Strikeforce shows on NBC.
This means one of two things:
1) The FOX deal was a good money deal for UFC, but horrible for building the company. Since the channels they are on (FX, Fuel) are available in much fewer homes, hardly anyone is watching their shows anymore. Nobody sees promotions for big PPVs and big FOX shows. When they were on Spike, they would constantly have commercials throughout all the other shows people watch, including the important promos during TNA Wrestling which is the big crossover audience that UFC's success is built upon.
2) The MMA boom period is over, and UFC will only go downhill from here.
One thing is for sure, to get ratings they are going to have to put on freakshow fights, or at least championship fights with a lot of hype behind them throughout the FOX network.
FOX promotes the show during sports usually, assuming there will be a crossover from them. That hasn't worked though, since MMA is not a sport, but sports entertainment (or "fringe sport" if you prefer). This is going to be a tough one for them to build upon.

Im not surprised in the slightest that it did shitty numbers. it did 2.3million average. havent seen peak numbers yet.
Mayweather fighting + a couple big basketball games + cinqo de mayo + avengers movie (biggest opening weekend ever. everyone went to the movies).
Plus it was, for all casual fans, a completely bullshit card that no one cared about. The UFC is shooting themselves in the foot by not having important fights on FOX.
PLUS FOX 2 was such a dull event. They most likely didn't keep any carry over viewers from that event.

In the end this just shows how non-mainstream UFC really is. If there's something more interesting going on, people will do that instead. In its peak days, around UFC 100, people would have been skipping basketball games and movies to watch it. Now, they couldn't give a fuck.
