You will find these markings on the lenses.

However, other lamps are allowed to be the DRL system, low beams, high beams on limited brightness, fog lights, and the signal light filaments on steady when not signalling.

Did you not read.

I'm looking into getting yellow driving lights as well, I don't think the coppers will be too adamant on pulling people over for this because then they'd have to pull over every car that has a HID kit without OEM projectors etc. . .

i've recently started seeing it more on jeeps/pickup trucks, that just use either the hid kits or hid-"like" bulbs into their reflector housings, and the glare hurts even during the daytime from 100m away oncoming..

Yes, my Toyota pickup has the front yellow signal lights run continuously as DRLs.

The answer is, "it depends".

It's okay to have yellow marker lights.

It's NOT okay to have yellow headlights.

Either MAY function as DRLs.

So if your marker lights are being used as DRLs, then it's okay to have yellow DRLs.

If your headlights are functioning as your DRLs, then it's NOT okay to have yellow DRLs.

Clear enough now?

Got pulled over just now by popo saying that I need to show them white lights installed in 3 days or else I get fined.

fair enough that got me to read this forum. I always thought the rule is "yellow or white" headlights.

In Hong Kong yellow headlights are acceptable.... So I thought it's the same here.

Do any cars come stock with yellow headlights here? So why would it be legal?

Just to be specific for you...

Headlamps

4.05 (1) A motor vehicle must be equipped with either one or 2 headlamps mounted on each side of the front of the vehicle and capable of displaying white light.

So yellow lights are not white lights, ergo you are not complying with the law, ergo you got stopped.

They never came from the factory with yellow headlights. Yellow lights are not permitted by either Transport Canada or NHTSA in the US. If for some strange reason someone accidentally put yellow headlights in your car on the assembly line, it still would not comply with the laws in either country. If it was imported then it should have failed an inspection when first registered. MY 2 neighbours both have CRVs and neither has yellow lights, one is the same year as yours, the other a year newer. I have never seen a CRV with legal yellow lights anywhere, since they were first introduced. How come yours came with factory yellows?

What is your definition of yellow?

Mine is this:

I'd be surprised if your head lights looked as yellow as those fog lights.

Consider yourself very fortunate - they would have been within the law to fine you on the spot, and/or issue an inspection notice.

let me be a little bit more specific in my question as diff lights can be diff colors

according to previous posts
it is OK to have YELLOW DRL. NOT ok to have yellow high beam. it is ok to have yellow fog

hence, ok to have yellow fog running as DRL
now,

now what if my DRLS are highbeams on half power? is it illegal to have yellow bulbs IN the highbeam housing already? or is it only illegal if i turn it on in full power highbeam mode?

You'll be a lot less confused if instead of thinking that, "it is OK to have YELLOW DRL," you think of it as "it is OK for existing legal yellow lighting to operate as DRLs."

keep everything as it came from the factory on lighting. then you wont have any issues

and no hondas come from the factory with yellow headlights or drls

early 90 preludes and early 90 acura legends are the only canadian sold hondas to feature a yellow foglight. and its a yellow sock inside the lense itself qwith a clear bulb

Hi Lomac,

I will be very glad to take you for a spin in my pathfinder in the Richmond fog (especially heading east down Westminster Highway), and let you see for your self the difference yellow fog lights make in those conditions.

I usually drive down Westminster at night driving to and from east and west Richmond and wow like 15 feet of visibility with standard headlights alone.

NO to yellow DRL
NO to yellow Highbeams
NO to yellow DRL that are your highbeams but half the power

i just passed my inspection, but failed on the drl/highbeam, but was able to change them on the spot and passed.
