Open up the caseback and put it in a bag of rice for a day or two. Some people have had good luck putting it ontop of something warm like a laptop.

If you actually require water resistance (swimming, diving) you'll want to bring it to a shop you may have a failed gasket somewhere.

I'd say $100 is budget

I would say either save up to 500, or buy a Guess watch when they go on sale.

Oakridge Mall, has a quite a few shops with a bunch of brands to check out. But I wouldn't buy them locally.

Seiko, citizen in tha price range <200 ~ are more respected

amazon.com has good deals too

i just picked up a seiko auto for <100here, planning on using it for daily as i'm always around water more often
and my orient daily i picked up from here is leather which i don;t like getting wet (yea its a decent cheap watch but still don't like wet leather LOL)

sadly the exchange rate makes the deals not so sweet anymore
i've been eyeballing a B&M for awhile now on the .com site and it went on sale
but the exchange rate didnt make for much savings if you factor in the other costs involved
....but with that being said i'm debating on selling my Hamilton Pilot and just getting it anyways cuz a little bit of savings is still ...well...savings

Try to look into official Citizen Service/Repair centres, it's a better bet to send your watch in to them for repair. Most service shops don't have the knowledge to work on one. I've had a Casio watch serviced and undergo a battery change at a Jeweller's, only to have them screw up, damage parts and lose the tiny alarm spring

G-Shocks, look no further.

Try the 5600 model, it's compact and rugged, a classic. Browse the selections at the Bay and try some on. Their prices are jacked way up, so look for the model that you like, and buy online

So I bought this leather-strapped "GC" watch from The Bay about a year ago.

After a year of use (worn 3-4 days per week), the verdict is in: it's fucking awesome.

It wasn't cheap (paid ~$700 after tax) but it's definitely a quality timepiece. Swiss-made, and it's evident. No problems with the mechanics, battery, or strap.

I get complimented on it fairly regularly. Much more so than my other 2 watches which are more brand-name / slightly pricier. Very versatile (goes with any occasion/outfit), & the 44mm size is large but not flashy.

I've got no affiliation with the brand (as you can tell I mostly know fuck-all about watches), just a satisfied customer spreading the word.

Anyone need watch winders?
I've got a single winder and a double winder for cheap.
$10 for the single and $15 for the double.

In the past I've ordered from both the official Steinhart website and gnomonwatches.com

Because the default Display Options when you're on sub-forums is one month. Anything older you will need to change the parameters on the bottom to see it show up with the sub-forum.
