wtf, battery changes for 30 bucks is over the top. 8-10 bucks max at public market in richmond.

yes, ever since Citizen Eco-Drive and even Casio Solar power back in the days, I love it. If you're a crazy watch person with a few automatic watches, changing the time each time really sucks when you rotate watches.

Go to the dollarstore and buy a small rubber kids ball. Its essentially the same as a friction ball and it opens most casebacks with ease without leaving marks like the caseback tools. Order a new caseback gasket from ebay if you need one, a battery, and you're good to go without having to spend $30 for a battery change.

I actually saw something like that online lol. Might go to the dollar to check things out.

One questions though for you guys if you have a few watches do you pull the dial out to save batteries when you aren't going to use that watch for a while or you guys just let it run?

Was working on my Seiko diver so here's a pic of the mini fruit ball lol. Just press down and compress the ball over the caseback and start turning.

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a watch, and was wondering if you watch experts had any recommendations.

It must meet the following criteria:

-relatively cheap
-MUST have a timer
-either analog or digital (but I'm leaning towards digital because most with a timer tend to be digital)
-formal (can be worn with a suit)

Much thanks in advance!

^^ what's your budget?
for low end $100 to $200 I would get a cheap Guess
$200 to $500 citizen and sekio
Also is hard to find a digital watch that's also formal. Digital watch tend to have rubber band and are more bulky thus more sport/casual.

I was thinking something along the lines of this:

https://www.fossil.com/us/en/watches...u-jr1492p.html

But even cheaper! like sub $100 even. I am open to no-name/underground brands as well

not really formal use. Also Case Size: 50mm is way too big for a formal watch unless you have big wrist.
I would The Fifth Watches I would pick the Upper East or Broadway(If you can pull it off). I like watch with a clean look.
BTW they only see their watch on the fifth on each month. If you get on the VIP list (free) you can order earlier.

You make a good point, and also, that's definitely the style I'm going for!

But it doesn't seem like the watches have a timer on them.

Do you know of any options that get the best of both worlds in terms of a) style b) has a timer?

IF you want a timer on a budget of $100, you have two options.. a quartz powered chronograph or an analog / digital watch. The Chrono's at this price range wont provide accurate timing as they usually just give you the minute and second.

Here's a few choices

I know some people barf at the name Invicta but they actually have some decent watches if you know your movements. This one uses a Swiss made ISA 9516/3030 quartz, which isn't bad for a $100 watch.

12470 MEN'S Invicta Intrinsic 20ATM Chrono Analog Digital Steel Diver Watch NEW | eBay

or something like this Casio and chuck on a decent leather strap.
Casio AMW320R 1EV Analog Digital Combo Black Resin Watch Alarm Stopwatch 079767850272 | eBay

or even a Fossil chrono
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Fossil-Grant-...gFdqCs37Jl_pHQ

I hate Fossil's with a passion as the quality is horrible but it seems like what you might be looking for.

Thanks so much man, hit the nail on the head. I'm really liking the casio. I think I'm leaning towards the analog/digital strap style like you mentioned. Seems kind of difficult to read the timer on the chronograph watches.

No worries man. I really like the Casio too. It really reminds me of the vintage Breitling Pluton that I'm trying to hunt down.

Here's a example of what it could look like with a decent leather strap

Arnold also wore the champagne coloured dial version of the Casio in Kindergarten Cop lol

Here's Denzel wearing one too

The tag connect is 4000$+? For a android smart watch? That seems overpriced

I don't think that watch is $4,000. Or at least I hope it isn't.

Looks like the moto 360? Flat tire on the bottom. If so it's 400ish for the second generation and 150ish for first generation.
