^I was thinking the same too. ~$1000-2000 for a decent chinese tourbillon vs. $30,000+ for a swiss tourbillon. And yes, they are mesmerizing to look at

Yeah, I need to research on it too. Last thing we want is something that looks like a tourby but with just an exposed/dressed up balance wheel on a handwind seagull.

I think to get something decent it would be in the $1.5k range, but admittedly that's already into some nice used watch territory.

Haha, I agree. But the Zenith only came in 40 or 45 mm, and the 40mm version did not look as good. I find 40-42mm is a better size for me. However, the photo makes it look a lot larger, it doesn't look as bad in-person

Swiss toubillons are, i would say most would be in the 30k-100K mark.

Then you have the ultimate toubillons that most people can't afford in the 100-300K mark.

lol Before my Rolex Sub I was really considering getting a Chinese TB for ~$1200.. There's nothing wrong with them, it's quality in all the right places. And you get to watch all the mechanics in motion
I highly doubt I'll ever spend over 30k on a Swiss TB.. or any watch for that matter.

Not sure about those models exactly, but Stuhrling is a reputable Swiss brand. For the price, there's some pretty interesting pieces, though their lower automatics are all stock ETA's, and their TB's use various Chinese TB movements. But IIRC, each model still has their own specific TB movement? Price ranges from $200+, maybe anywhere from $800-$4000 for the Chinese TB's. You can find them in online stores all over the internet..

God dammit, now I want one.

the ones i posted are listed @ well over $600k

most of them are extremely limited to several units etc hence the bump in prices etc

for the greubel http://www.jameslist.com/advert/2361...-white-leather)

have you guys checked out chinas Beijing Watch Factory? their designs look pretty sweet

en.bjwaf.com supposedly their prices range from $40k(seen some nice ones finally under their "oriental" line) - astronomical (their athena gold watch is 1.9million yuan $330k)

I was @ winners 2 weeks ago and saw a Stuhrling Alpine. It was on sale for $140, I looked it up online and retail's $600. It's a solid watch, and I love the look of it...gives me a Patek Philippe vibe.

On closer inspection there's a lot of "fake" mechanical pieces in there.
I mean...it's a name brand and all, but realistically this watch is a knock off of a very expensive skeleton watch. I love it tho, especially the glass backing... and for under $150
I've been told get a watch that's either under $1000 or over $4000. Definitely won't be my last skeleton.

Yeah, as reputable as they are, they're maybe a few steps above Fossil, and a step below Seiko, imo.

Though it's really hard to say though, because their prices and mechanics have one hell of a range, from 200 to upwards of 4000, and ETA Automatics to Tourbillons.

^ Really not feeling those Hublot lookalikes. They look really toy-ish. Reminds me of friggin Nixons, or something little kids wear.
