Ab ripper is pretty intense.. begin by doing it without your shoes on. Then when you get stronger, put the shoes back on haha.

Pull up bars can be purchased at fitness depot, fitness town, walmart, zellers... and so on. P90x is also available at fitness town for purchase now.

Wal Mart has P90x as well, $119. They also have a good chin up bar. Dont get their Bally's exercise bands, they suck.

P90x is awesome!
i've been on the p90x for the past 53 days, one more week until i finish my first 60 days.
at first i couldn't do more than 6 chin ups or pull ups, or anything more than 20 standard push ups, military push ups and wide push ups on bars, after pushing myself everyday, following the diet plan and scheduling i can do around 30-35 push ups per set on bars, and about 15 chin ups per set. and i feel great!
you really have to focus on the diet, scheduling, and really have to push yourself. It will pay off in the end.
i will post pictures from day 0 to 90. after i finish the program.

forgive me for bumping up an old thread!

but a quick question to people who are/have done this....
is it a workout that strictly has to be done at home?
or could i load it all up on my iphone or whatever and bring it to the gym with me and do it there?

im not sure if its the kind of workout where its GO GO GO all in one spot doing different things!? (ive never seen the videos...)

also i read that fitness town is the only local place to get this instead of ordering online... true?

you'll need a decent amount of space to do most of the exercises, so if you've got a studio or stretch area at your gym, you'll be ok. the other thing that might keep you at home is that the exercises are quite unorthodox so you'll probably get a lot of eyes watching you at the gym.

hey guys, im pretty overweight, but i play soccer here and there, and i did the first week of p90x pretty half assed, but i have the dedication to continue doing it properly and eating healthy. do you guys think i should continue the P90x workout? or maybe try burning off a few pounds first and then maybe start on it? or should i continue the workout and do some cardio after, for example run 4-6 laps around a track??

finish it. whatever your brain has made as an excuse not to; ignore it and just keep on your program.

The program should cover all necessary aspects for your goals. IMO, it is not for beginners. Throw in as much dedication and heart to staying on the program/eating properly and you wont need to run laps. If you want the extra cardio then use the cardio X minimum of 4 times a week.

Workout smarter not harder

^ I agree, You will slim down because the program will make you work hard. Just make sure you are following the nutrition plan 100%. Your metabolism will speed up and help you burn even more.

you dont even have to follow the nutrition plan 100%.
since ur new to working out and whatnot its prolly going to be harder for you to stick to working out AND a strict strict diet plan. just continue with the videos and eat moderately be a little more aware of what your putting into your body and i guarentee you will see results in body transformation as well as being able to keep up and play soccer and a faster pace then what ur use to now!

I agree, you'll definitely feel better....I myself is going for "Size" so I'm not doing a lot of reps as they do but just use heavier weights. It's good shit and you feel it the next day.. If not, you are doing it wrong hehehe..

As they say, pace yourself and not go all out.. otherwise you might end up hurting yourself.
