I bought the whole thing minus the full band set but i did get 1 band the green one which is thick as hell and has a hell of a lot of resistance. and the chin-up bar(which i found is useless to me because i dont have anywhere to mount in my house and therefore need to sell it) anyways.

the workout is seriously intense. the whole muscle confusion works great. what I started doing for awhile was doing a build up during the 1st week of the standard program.
starting with 10 reps and working upto 25 reps doing 5 more reps each week. all i can say is no matter what you do each week your going to be feeling the burn. but due to illness and injury (not from P90x) I have yet to go back on it. its a tough program but in the end I can safely say that if you've got the workout space and enough gear at home to do everything it will save you money from going to the gym.

there is also a 10 minute workout that Tony Horton does too. If someone has it them or a link that would be helpful

yea man this shit looks in intense like im pretty sure it works because its just a work out plan that changes constantly. Its just like if u go to the gym and u do a a work out plan for month then change ur work out routine, it will do the same. Becuase ur not doing the same routine over and over again till ur muscle gets really use to it. The workout in those videos r pretty much focusing mostlly in toning

I got my chin up bar from Wal Mart, the total gym one, so you can use it for chinups/pullups when set up in a door way. and you can put it on the ground and use it for situps and push ups.

I started the p90x program today, and it was pretty hard, I was in really good shape during the summer, but I then got bored and stopped going to the gym for the last 2 months.

Not ready for P90X yet, the ab ripper killed me so i'm currently working on the 10-minute trainer (which is really 30-minutes to really get a decent a workout).

you know what, 10 minute trainer is a good way to lose weight... i've done it, lost 20 lbs, but i also use weights as well (seperately)....

overall, i'm happy with the results - i just don't have the time or ability to commit to P90X, but a coworker swears by it - with the results evident to see

he's done it 3 times now in the last year, but has admitted its getting boring now...

i don't even know what p90x is...judging from the responses, i think its like a tae bo program....just another scam...there are so many different types of programs and they ALL say the same thing..This program is better than that program then they'll show you fit customers that have used that program...its all an act...

there's no BEST program...just common sense when losing weight...

getting active(workout, cardio, etc) + eat less = results......

I remember the first time I came to this site with zero knowledge of fitness training...I was so hyped about getting a bowflex coz the commerical said it'll give you a "hard toned muscular body"
Now, I think bowflex is garbage...
Its easy to target people with few knowledge of fitness training

its working because people are getting their ass off the couch, starting exercising and eating less....there's no trick or short cuts in losing weight......

losing weight = get active + eat less + dedication....

P90x actually spells out an eating and working out routine for people. One that gets them in shape if they follow it. Things like the Bowflex are like what you're talking about, "get off the couch, exercise."

On top of which, P90x isn't meant for your average fatass, it's meant for people already in shape to get into much better shape.

Sorry, jakobi, you're clearly talking out of your ass on this one. Do some reading on it, or hell, download it and see for yourself.

simple, dont kncock it just because you dont know what it is.

ya, your right, basic concept, its all about getting off the couch, working hard and being commited.

that is what the program is about, its a guide for people that dont know what they are doing, it is a very good program and it helps to motivate you to do it everyday.

its a program + motivation + guide all in one. its a pretty basic idea if you think about it, but it is done well, its not a scam, it dose work.

there are a ton of before/after pictures of p90x-ers on facebook. search the group, look at the photos. i highly doubt that everyone who posted their before/after pic and on the walls are "in" on the "scam"...

your arguements are lame

this is a program that does all that, not a scam... a lot of ppl don't know how to eat/work out properly and EFFICIENTLY

this is exactly what this does, best results in the best time

Where did you guys go to get your equipment for the work out?

I've looked on their site and they have the push up bar, chin up bar and resistance bands there

http://www.beachbody.com/product/fit...shup_stands.do
http://www.beachbody.com/product/fit...extreme_kit.do
http://www.beachbody.com/product/fit...chin_up_bar.do

I'd prefer to find a place to buy them locally because I wouldn't have to wait and pay for shipping.

I don't do the whole thing, being as I have no weights at home, but for that stuff:
The pushup bars are kind of retarded, you can use anything for a bit more elevation if you really need it.
Resistance bands and chinup bars can be found at Walmart. I got my chinup bar at the one here in Victoria for $20.

Yup!

Picked up a box of Bally World Fitness resistance bands from Walmart. Comes with the normal black one, a figure 8 one for your legs and another one just for your arms. $20 for all three

you can do it at the gym by:

A) Portable DVD player or put the videos on you Ipod.

B) You can print off or Photocopy the worksheets and just follow the exercises and write down your reps and weights.

C) memorizing it like you said

D) All of the above.
