Hehehe, thanks Tek...
I know this month we were suppose to go but with my new job and other things I've been super busy.

Hmmm....I tried to gather a few regulars (raid3n and cskc-7) to go this Sunday but I received an email that they were all booked solid.

I'll figure out something :p

Hmm... I'd like to give blood too actually... never done it before... how many vials do they usually collect?

Peanut Butter Jelly Time! 11-16-2007 04:19 PM

well a couple of vials for testing then about 450mL for actual usage, but they actually measure it in grams... somewhere around 600 if i remember correctly. sounds like a lot, but it really isn't.

Gumby 11-19-2007 11:25 AM

...and the average person has 5 litres of blood in total. They take enough such that they suggest you avoid strenuous activity for 6-8 hours after donating.

LuViN_TeG 11-19-2007 08:58 PM

after realizing how much donated blood means to a lot of people, i have decided to donate blood as well.
just lemme know when and where it's going to be, and i'll do my very best to go with you guys (too busy with school).
or if i can't join you guys, i'll just go get it done with my brother or something.

Will i be able to drive or ride a motorcycle after?

Peanut Butter Jelly Time! 11-19-2007 10:19 PM

driving's really not a problem, I don't know about riding a motorcycle though, but it shouldn't be an issue either. i'm a pretty small person 5ft n 120ish lbs and i feel FINE after... no dizziness what-so-ever. so yeah BDY set a date, maybe we can do it in Dec. or sth for those who didn't go in Nov.

What_the? 11-20-2007 12:47 AM

sweet! i'm free most of dec, so i'll try to make it! (away in vegas Dec. 10-14 tho)

Inaii 11-21-2007 04:42 AM

BDY: When you decide on a date let me know! =) I'll be more than happy to come donate again.

Hopefully THIS time nothing goes wrong -.-

What_the? 11-21-2007 11:41 AM

Can someone send me a PM to remind me pleaseeee?

K-Dub 11-29-2007 07:16 AM

Last time I went with school, I could only give like half of what I was supposed to fill up.

I seem to have reallllly low blood pressure, I didn't feel woozy or anything after, but it just seemed to take a really long time for any blood to come out so the nurse stopped it after I had barely filled up half.

Lol, I wound up in the chair for a realllly long time. Then went home and slept for like 16 hours or something.

LuViN_TeG 12-04-2007 03:35 PM

do we have a date yet as to when it's gonna be?

Macadamia 12-04-2007 09:22 PM

Wow, its already December...

Next month will work better for all.
We are all in the holidays' rush and craziness so January will be good.

I'm due to give again shortly after the Xmas break, so if you guys arrange a blood drive, count me in. (as long as it's on a weekend since I'm usually working during their business hours)

TekDragon 12-26-2007 02:56 PM

I'm looking to do this on Friday January the 4th in the afternoon. Who all can make it on that day?

k20a 12-26-2007 04:35 PM

arr damn guys, count me out. I realize I have school + work on that day.

What_the? 12-27-2007 04:21 AM

where exactly is the site you guys donate at?

I might actually be in Seattle around the 3-4th of January

TekDragon 12-27-2007 10:35 AM

I'd be looking at booking with the one on Oak St. We can go to Oakridge mall afterwards and get gelatto. :D
