I went this past weekend and honestly it was still pretty good. They give you lots of meat compared to some other places.

I went to "VIETNAMESE" on Main and 25th today with my gf (we went cause we saw it on a post on here on RS lol). It was pretty good compared to the stuff we ate before in Richmond. A bit on the dirty side though... but will definately go back. On the cheaper side of the spectrum too!

Great soup there... no joke. But it is a little bit more expensive than other places.

Went to Pho Vinh for the first time last week after hearing the rave reviews on here. Restaurant was clean, good lighting, and quaint. The service was quick and prompt, mind you it wasn't that busy. (Only two other tables served.)

I had the Pho Dac Biet special with a side of spring rolls (~$7.50-$8.00??) and iced milk coffee ($3.50) to drink. The broth was pretty good and it wasn't oily at all. Good meat to noodle portion and everything tasted fresh. The spring roll was a bit of a disappointment, it was the size of a crayon in length and about an inch in width? You can see it in the corner of my picture. The coffee was good, a tad bit on the stronger side but tasty..

Overall it was a good experience!

He's the original owner/chef of Kim Hoang from long time ago. I think atleast 5 years ago?

Went to Pho Bang in Chinatown, New York

Found this through a recommendation located in the heart of Chinatown, New York. Spring rolls were junk - they were as hard as a rock but I think they were pre-made and frozen. Do not recommend.

Pho, however, was good. Pictured above is the "dac biet" which only consisted of the beef, tripe, and tendon. No beef balls. Broth was good, noodles were plentiful, beef was excellent and little to no MSG. Owned and operated by Chinese-Vietnamese people. There are several around town but this Pho Bang is just one of them. Highly recommended if you are in New York.

24 hour place on broadway and cambie has the absolute worst salad rolls i have ever eaten. 1 bite and you will throw it away. It was disgusting. Their pho is not very good either. I have eaten there quite a few times because theres nothing else open. Last resort.

ok so i finally tried pho vinh. I didn't find it all that great. I had the pho dac biet like i usually do and the portion is not very big. soup was just ok, nothing special. Maybe it was all the hype that it is one of the best? Pho Tam > Pho Vinh.
Suong Huong or however you spell it is still my all time fav. The bun bo hue there is the best iv ever had.

The quality of broth, beef, and noodles at Pho Vinh are pretty good. The downside to all of this is the amount of MSG they put into their broth which unfortunately, is a turnoff.

Alright guys, next time I'm going to Surrey, I'm going to either Pho Tam or Pho Vinh. Which one should I go try first?

I would try Pho Tam and then Pho Vinh but for either or, I would only go if you were going for Surrey with a specific purpose.

FYI, do not park at Safeway unless you plan on going inside to buy something before going to Pho Tam. I got ticketed and the parking patrol crew are fiesty fuckers there.

So what is the general consensus about Pho Thai Hoa on 1625 Kingsway?

Seems like the only good one I've been to around South Van. Or are there any other places in that area?

I'm not a big fan. Could be better but I've had much better pho elsewhere.

Read the thread over. There are much more better pho restaurants in Vancouver.
