GS8, if Zootopia was 3.5/10 what would you rate Cars? (IMO Cars was TERRIBLE)
I watched Cars on opening night in theaters. Fell asleep through 40 minutes of it because it couldn't hold my attention. It was a movie that wouldn't end. Never thought Pixar could fuck up something so bad and then this movie was released.

My initial rating was 3/10

But then the merchandising happened and suddenly THE worst Pixar franchise became a giant cash cow which inevitably spawned two sequels and a spinoff (Planes).

That knocked my rating for Cars down to 1/10. There is nothing redeemable here. There was probably strong corporate influence to keep the films going in order to keep the merch selling.

I fell asleep during planes. Since then my niece had refused to ever go see a movie with me again, up until Dory. LOL

Spotlight 8/10 - slow but mega drama and great acting. The content and the fact that it was based on a true story kept me glued to the screen. A good watch for those that enjoy slow burn dramas.

The Bodyguard (or also known as The Beloved Bodyguard) 《我的特工爺爺》 6.5/10

Sammo Hung's new movie, he's also the director. Few cameos (as in 10 of his old buddies; even Andy Lau was in it).

Extremely slow movie, trying to put so much emotions and onions into the movie which did not work. Fighting scene was all at the very end and just wasn't enjoyable. Really wished there were 2-3 fight scenes separated all through out the movie.

Batman vs Superman: 6/10

Way exceeded my expectations, I was expecting a 3 or 4/10 but it kept me entertained for the most part.

Wonder Woman was a nice surprise but the casting was lame. She's pretty but looks like a skinny model. Wonder Woman should be this big powerful athletic woman

^^^ felt the same way, better than reviews but ok at best... 5/10 Granted the ones available now is The Ultimate Edition, which is longer than the theatrical cut by like 30mins + iirc

as for the horrible casting in WW she's bulked up a bit since batman vs superman, but meh

she looks like she ate a lot of cheesecakes here

Spoiler!

URGE 8/10 if not higher tbh... its a low budget movie but they did a good job with it, the best part is the after credits scene! so much work was put into it

So these snobby group of friends go on a weekend partying adventure and end up trying a new drug that has some interesting side effects, poster is kind of misleading as Pierce Brosnan is hardly in it.. almost a cameo appearance

Wonder Woman should look like Dana Linn Bailey but like 6'3". Nothing skinnier than her will do IMO

I watched the theatrical, I wonder if the other one is that much better?

Her legs are probably pumped after a workout... But shit I wonder if I watched the wrong one. Oh well I enjoyed it enough that I didn't feel it was a total waste of time, good enough for me

I disagree. Why should she look like a female powerlifter? If anything,Wonder Woman should look like how she looks in the comics, which is not muscular and striated at all. I thought Gal Gadot looked good as WW for the most part, maybe 5lbs more wouldn't have hurt.

I only watched the Ultimate edition but supposedly its the better version as it explains the motives for the characters more in depth. The trade off is I did notice a few scenes which could've been cut easily. Also the Ultimate edition is much more violent. 6.5/10.

AMAZING cast again, SURPERB acting and to be honest 1 thing Hong Kong was and is still good at, is making great criminal, police, robbery movies... 9/10

* the cast is quite huge and you gotta keep track of what they do...
ps. only 1 sponsor from china so it wasn't that crazy of a hard sell (unlike Independence Day)

I agree that Cars was terrible.
We have very different movie judgment scales, but I'm cool with that.

Mr Brooks. 8.3/10. hadn't heard of it and didn't know what to expect. was a good movie.

Good story and writing and Kevin Costner did a good job in it. And Dane Cook was pretty good too.

Mike & Dave Need Wedding Dates: 6.5/10
Despite my 6.5 score it was a pretty funny movie. It's based on a true story (I never knew that) and apparently the real Mike & Dave had a cameo appearance but apparently they showed up to set completely hammered and sun burnt. I don't know if they made it into the film.

After my disappointment with Zootopia, I had to watch this.

I give this film a solid 9/10. I knew it would be a feels trip but wow, even I was surprised just how much this film gut punches you with metaphorical reality.

Easy to watch as a kid, a LOT to process as an adult depending on how little or how much you want to delve into the themes presented. I loved how they developed the script in such an intricate way to include all the characters and make them act as you could only expect them to act within a brain.

Although I predicted a couple of major plot points, it didn't matter because unlike Zootopia, I WANTED these plot points to happen and they did which made me love it more. Pixar really pushed the boundaries in this film and made it an emotional rollercoaster for anyone who has been there like the little girl or is still there, even in adult years.

This is one of those films that, when I finish, I find myself just sitting there and thinking about what I just watched. I can't turn my brain off when I watch movies. I watch them to encourage mental stimulation.

This was a movie I can watch multiple times and always learn something from it. A masterpiece for me.
