Friends Mazda 3 got Vandalized!

Friend's car, but I still feel his pain since his car was already parked inside his locked underground parking lot and this still happened! Apparently his and another Mazda 3 got hit like this. If you know your Mazda's, you can clearly see what they were trying to do, but wrong location as well as year of car... anyways for you guys with Mazda 3's, sleep with one eye open.

Same thing happened to my brothers fx45 last month except they went straight to the prying part.
$800 in damage. Those fucks need to make a real living, and stop vandalizing other peoples cars.

You guys keep quoting other cars do know that some years of Mazda 3 had this problem where a kick at the correct area will unlock and disarm the alarm, dont you?

Lesson here is thieves don't care which year Mazda 3 it is, as long as it is Mazda 3 they will kick it to try their luck.. don't want that to happen to you? Don't get a Mazda 3!

all you gotta do is bang the area right about the handle and the car will unlock and disarm.

^ It's right below the handle, not above. It's like a can opener.. except the opener is your foot and the can is the mazda3 door.

I like the mazda3, but this stupid problem pretty much gaurantees every mazda3 owner out there - a nice bang for the buck car + a dent on the door regardless of you fixing the car previously or a different year.

Bring it back to Mazda, I heard they fix that free of charge because of their manufactuering fault.

The lock pops open even at that spot as was captured in the pictures above.

Trust me, I know.

That is what happen to one of my co-worker's friend Mazda 3. They either punched that area or kicked it and it unlocked the doors. The theive got away his sunglasses and his $300 Energie Jacket.

Ouch, good thing i didn't get hit yet. *knocks on wood*

I think if you go to Wolfe Mazda on Boundary to get your door re-enforced they will put a sticker in there too now. Or at least one of the Vancouver dealers does now.

I believe the second generation door-plates are kick proof, though not dent proof

Though, if they really want they can just break the window; which is why I just put everything in my trunk and lock it, and than lock my 60/40 seats, so if someone does break-in they will have nothing to grab.

I think if you goto the Dent King they will fix these for around $100, cheaper than paying the $300 deductible.

I work for mazda and have installed the door lock recall kit your talking about, it doesn't disarm the alarm it simply hits the lock rods and can posibly unlock the car. The kit is a gaurd that protects the lock rods from impact, and only certain years/models are affected (and yes it has been up-dated). Any dealer can run your VIN to see if you are eligable for the campain. The internet and news media did a good job spreading this around and tones of 3's get hit now because everyone knows about this, it's a shame cause it's even easier to smash a window.

They are not. They were released starting in 2007 so the fix was already in place.

However, thieves don't care and just label it as another Mazda3 so they hit it anyways.
