Speaking of Victoria...
Blighty's Bistro:
Food:
Very, very well cooked scallops appy with a slightly sweet sauce
Their signature "gourmet" (quoting from their menu) fish & chips is pretty unique.
The dish consists of 2 large pieces of fish (cod) and the skin was very crispy.
The 2pieces were stuffed with mushrooms and veggies.
The first piece was very delicious, but the second piece was too much for me.
The servers were the owner (or one of them) and another server and they were VERY attentive.
9/10.
Aura at the Inn at Laurel point:
Appy: Seafood broth was FANTASTIC!
Contained a small handful of Thai noodles (vermicelli), a few mussels, clams, salmon, and a sweet/slightly spiced broth.
Mains: Seafood linguine was cooked perfectly with the right amount of sauce with perfect taste (complementary).
Dessert: Chocolate Napoleon - unique dessert with 3 different small portions of chocolate-related desserts.
Service: It was very busy especially with 2 private events outside (a wedding and something else), but the server managed to serve us well enough and efficiently.
9.5/10.

Apollonia Greek Restaurant
8/10 - Ordered two platters, everything came out perfect. The lamb was tender and moist, everything came relatively quickly. The calamari was nice and crunchy and the souvlaki was moist and tender. There was nothing wrong about the two platters I ordered, might have been the best Greek food I've ever had.
One downside was that the waitress was nice and polite but bland - almost curt.

Sweet revenge on main 3/10
Remember when sweet revenge used to have delicious desert and its always packed, well those days are gone.
Ordered B52, creme brulee and apple pie with ice cream.
I have had these before and they were delicious, but this time the creme brulee was horrible, except for the crispy sugar on the surface the brulee was not sweet, and it was not smooth, theres air pocket all throughout. The apple pie was SUPER doughy, it was like eating bread.
I asked the waitress if there was change in ownership because this was a drastic change in quality. and she said theres been a recently ownership change and you can for sure taste it in the desert. So just a alittle heads up sweet revenge is not what it used to be.
the 3/10 is because the b52 was ok.

Indian Wok - 9/10
Food was excellent, service was above and beyond, but parking is a hassle.

Guu, Robson and thurlow
Fuck toward the end of the meal we ended up ordering their pork back and gnocchi and Somone I was with asked what was in it. The guy said the last ingredient was MSG
Went home that night and woke up for the hockey game, holy fuck stomach was just aching and my mouth was more dry than I've ever felt it lol. Don't know of it was directly
Related to the MSG but sure seemed like it.

Fish Counter
9/10
Had the oyster po boy with fries..only $10 and you get a generous sized sandwich with 3 large fried oysters and a mountain of fries. I would rank this as he best oyster po boy I've had. Also tried their fish taco and boulibase which were both great. Will return for po boy and try their fish and chips and clam chowda next!!
fries were money too

L`abattoir 9/10
Had dinner here for two and the service was on point. Not intrusive and very professional. Veal tartare and scallops were excellent. Entree's were surprisingly on the "filling" side. Steak Diane was amazing (even though steak isn't my usually my first choice in these restaurants I settled for it to satisfy my craving), girlfriend had Pacific sole (two filet's with fries). Almost didn't have room for the last bite of dessert because we were quite full.
The small open kitchen reminded me of when I worked at the pear tree which was quite nostalgic.

I take it that the food must have been relatively cheap and delicious compared to Canadian standards?
