Just a question to the people that have chinese/asian characters as their tattoos: have any of you brought a person that actually understands what the characters mean or what they say as a whole when you had your tattoo done? And when i say as a whole, like, when you have 4 characters, what it actually means taken together, not individually. I've seen a lot of tattoos where the person probably didn't get the phrase checked out before having it done, and although it means what they try to describe it, its a piss poor way of stating it.

^^^ always have someone that speaks and read the lanuage natively to check it out to make sure.
I had plans to get chinese character for my second tattoo. even though I'm chinese and can speak/read decent chinese i still got my mom to check out the wording to make sure every stroke it correct.
measure twice cut once.

But I sat a lot better the second session than the first.
Second session was NOTHING at all!

guys, is red suppose to fade a little after its heal? I have a black tattoo with a few spot of red and it's been a few month heal and it looks like the red faded a little?
is it true most artist dunt do touchup of another artist work? what if i can't find my original artist and i just want a touchup not a coverup?

usually artists will do touchups within a year if u notice fading, some people dont take to certain colors well, a couple months shouldnt have it fadeing that much really, my tattoo healed in 3 weeks.... get some good skin lotion and really rub it into your tattoo, it should bring out the color a little more, this only temp fix really and wont last long, i would recommend finding ur original artist

I know how to find the artist that did my newest tat the problem is my first tat that i got 2+ year ago. the artist that did it dunt work at the shop no more and last the shop manager heard the guy is in Philippines or somewhere in asia. Hence why i'm wondering if other artist will touchup the work.

Why don't you ask the guy that does work on you now?
Some artists will do it if they like the art work. All depends.
Tattoo colours fade over time, there is really no way around it. The edges also become less sharp.

Heres mine My first tatty!
Its completely fresh! got it done just yesterday.
Its for my mom who passed away in 2004. I got a "floral" portrait of a lily pedal because her name was lily. Her birth and death dates, our family last name for the chinese character in the flower in red. With the phrase " What doesnt kill me can only make me stronger" down by the ankle area.   
and heres how it looked when it was just drawn on my leg: 
Took a little over 4.5hrs to complete, but i absolutely love it! Defiantly worth that little pain  | |
