In the summer I typically park my car at the Peace Arch parking lot for visitors, take my bike off my rack and am at Hagens in about 5 mins. No border waits, you walk right into the US building and go to line "C" which never has anyone in it. In the winter I try to do the same but usually just walk. Still only 15mins walk and it's some good exercise.

Yeah, today was busy getting in, I got there 8:45am and line was halfway down the hill. But coming back was only about 5 car wait. Line into PR was down to the bottom of the hill on my way back. Should have went yesterday instead.

OMG speaking of line c, those border guards are retarded. I was waiting in line with all these other people for line c cuz thats what the officer told me on the way in. Then after about 15-20 mins in line I find out its not line c and they just left the tag in the wrong palce

I don't want to start a new thread, but does anyone do shipping to the states for your online sales? What's the cheapest method and doesnt your shipping costs reduce your profits by alot considering the amount?

I hope they stretched his asshole inside out. We don't need pricks like that in Canada.
Keep yourself to yourself, and don't be a baby about it. If he cuts in line, honk at him, other than that let the border guards do their job - they are looking down the line inside, if u didn't know

I went to TSB yesterday, crossed into Pt Roberts at 3:15, had to wait like 10 mins. Not too bad. Waiting to cross back into canada was a little longer, 20 mins or so.

BTW Shell premium 92 is 114.

Compared to tsawwassen, still a bit cheaper

92 at the first gas station was 104? Or something similar (I never actually look closely)

Really? I usually have the same experience as UFO. So glad I have a Nexus Pass though. Makes life so much easier at the borders.
It seems like a lot of people are in there for a long time. I pick up a package and fill jerry cans and am always out of there within 20 minutes (unless TSB misplaces my package)

Easy, even at best, it's 15 mins round trip to get gas, for $10-$20 savings, not worth it to most - and that's at best

It's worth it to me as I combine it with package pick up - convenience usually trumps a couple of bucks saved, especially if ur a tsawwassenite - newly wed (with kids) or nearly dead

^Really..? If I lived in Tsawwassen I would get a Nexus just for getting gas. $10-20 savings per week really adds up.

Though, one time I went in this rookie was doing everything by the book and ended up charging this girl taxes and duty on her shoes. It was rape. 12% + 18% duty I think on her shoes. She was so choked. Luckily I got a different guy and he only charged me the 12%. I would have been choked too.

If you live in Tsawwassen, you can always just go in the evening when there are no line ups. Like you said, saving $10 - $20 a week could really add up.

Feel bad for you, BUT IF you lived in Tsawwassen, I'm pretty sure the border is open 24 hours and as is the gas station. So you can go before or after work when there are no lines. Literally in and out in 5 minutes.

Man, I bought some stuff from 6pm.com while they had a sale, and they shipped it in 3 different packages, one ground, one 2nd day and one 3 day.

Used the free shipping option too.

Da fuq.

How can the concept that not all people value time equally be so difficult to grasp?

15 minutes of time does not exceed $10 in value for all people.

Over the course of a year, the savings only add up to 1% or less of the average successful young couples gross income.

Period.

~ $500 after taxes probably sounds like a lot of money to students or to people who are making less than $30K a year.

A young family with 2 income earners probably makes around $80K after taxes. ~$500 a year is not a drop in the bucket, but that 13 hours over a year is probably more valuable to them than the cash.

Does anyone know the procedure with Canada customs is if you're returning an item?
I just picked up a jacket today and paid taxes on the jacket. It doesn't fit so i'm going to return it. Anyone know the procedure on getting the taxes back on the jacket?

Also, my first experience with point 2 point...
I picked up a couple things and the staff aren't that friendly. They are clearly overwhelmed with the Christmas rush and seem all over the place. The "bigger" lady is clearly stressed out and the younger kid with the dreads doesn't give a eff, lol. They gave me the wrong package, good thing I checked. Guy in the back didn't read the name right. So make sure you double check your items.

They don't seem any more or less organized than TLC. I'd say TSB's customer service and experience is better overall. Their entrance is small so if it gets busy you'll be waiting outside which some people had to do, but I don't know if that's really a con. It was cold today though.

I would probably still use p2p, just don't expect anything better or worse than TLC.

Also, p2p charges you tax on their fee. I don't remember if TSB or TLC charges tax on their fee or not?
