Why should I accept a piss poor repair on a new car simply because ICBC wants to save $500 by not putting a new door skin on. Maybe some day when you have something nice you'll understand. We pay for insurance for a reason. It's not like ICBC is fixing my car out of the goodness of their heart.

The main things I complained about were:

1) They sanded through the paint on my front fender in two locations and didn't paint it before clear coating it.

2) They didn't wet sand the paint edges in the door jams and trunk.

I specifically asked them about this when I brought the car to them and they told me that I would never be able to tell where the new paint met the old paint. They guaranteed me this. I don't want some shitty looking edge running down the inside of my door jams. I've never seen a shop leave it like that before. Then they tell me they just don't have time to do it. Like that's my problem that their pushing too many cars through.

Why am I such a bad person for wanting the car repaired properly?

Also, he did scratch up my car. The new paint has scratches on it as well. He took a dirty rag and wiped the whole car down. I only ever touch my car with a sheepskin mitt and I never had any of these marks before. I had maybe 5 marks total on the car and now I have several dozen.

Owning nice things does not give you an excuse to be a dick and the impression I get from you is that you fall under "dick" catagory. In dealings with many different business in Victoria if you are not satisfied with something most are always willing to fix their mistakes or atleast work with you, but like you they are human and if you come in like dick why would they want to help you out more then the basic level. Like I said, maybe you should look in the mirror and try to figure out why YOU keep having problems with different shops.

Really? Actually they were made to fix everything. They repainted my fender and did the door jams after ICBC made them.

Sorry to disappoint you.

Actually it's none of your business what I complain about. Maybe you should post under your real identity instead of hiding behind a new one.

Here are photos of the issues I have with Continental's work. There is a text file that has a description of each photo. Also, there are full size images in a separate folder, so you can see the detail.

This accident was not my fault. It's a car I've had since new last year, and it has 20,000km on it.

ok, well from what i can see your door, 1/4, and bumper are all repairable. There is absolutly no need to replace any of the parts.

However, those are not "scratches", it is sinkage. Its the sanding in the bodywork swelling, and causing the primers to sink into them. There is more than one reason why this would happen, however I wont bore anyone with them.

Also the issue with your lower moulding is wrinkling, again, a problem that should have been corrected, or if qualified, should have never happened to begin with.

Regardless of which, that is a sub standard repair, and I would be embarrest to have produced that.

Im sure icbc will see it your way, and look after it properly.
