how do you talk to a girl?

i got on at waterfront today , and this chick got on and sat right in front of me ( we were facing each other) and she kept looking at me. We locked eye contact more than a few times - i thought i had something on my jacket/hair or something , but i didnt - and then i look up again and i see her looking at me again - but this time she's smiling , being the nice person i am - i smile back and look away. and i glance over and n she' looking else where, and from the corner of my eye i see her looking at me again . at this point i was like WTF . so i decided to stare her down lol - she jst kept smiling... this happened all the way until surrey central - where we both got off and went our seperate ways.

how do you approach this type of girl? it's kind of hard to strike up a conversation without being creepy and saying " hey i noticed you checking me out" ...

i guess - should've talked to her after i got off the train ... and making funny faces on a crowded train - other people might think im a freak or something - especially after crossing into surrey.. lol
