Thunderbird Rally 2009, anyone with experience?

I’ve just recently learned of this event, and I’m really itching to take part. I’m not sure if I can be prepared by the date (feb2/3).

This would be a first for me, as I have never done any type of rally before, summer or winter. The thunderbird looks like a lot of fun, and fairly novice friendly.

Can someone who has done this event tell a Novice what he can expect, and what he should be prepared for? This would be for someone in the Novice class, really going to say “I did it!” Not to be competitive (save that for another year).

The BC rally website seems to be very limited in its information on the event. The only thing that makes me nervous was reading someone on a website talking about being stuck in a snow bank for several hours, and having to build a fire to keep warm. I’m not so keen on freezing to death.

Anyone with experience please Chime in! This looks like a great event and I’d really like to get involved!

Oooops, just saw this, and the event is done.

Best sites are specialstage.com and islandrallysport.com.

This is the one BC TSD that we have not done, always too busy at this time of the year.

Same car as you for our TSD rallies, so if still interested, PM me.

Jay
