How is Fulton for Econ 1220?

Quote:
You are currently registered in ECON 1220 with Fulton Tom.

Welcome to the course.

Please be aware that students generally find my course difficult and regard me as a hard instructor.

Please go to www.ratemyprofessors.com and read the comments about me.

In my ECON 1220 course from the Spring 2014 term, 58% of students got either a D, F, W or N.

The course involves the use of logic, mathematics and graphs. See the attached Math and Graph Self-Test for math questions you must be able to solve in order to answer questions from the course.

To succeed in the course, you should expect to devote 10-14 hours every week on doing homework. You will be given approximately 20 assignments over the semester.

If you still plan to take the course, I will see you on the first day of class on Tuesday May 6. I look forward to meeting you.

Cheers.

Fulton

For which school does it say only most recent 30 credits are counted?

It sucks that you know going into Fulton's class that it'll be hard, but at least he's taking the time and effort to inform you that you WILL need to put effort into his course.

Gotta respect a prof for being honest regarding that.

For ex: Sauder

Required courses for admission to Year 3
You must have completed a minimum of 54 transferable credits including the following UBC core courses (or their equivalents) by the end of April:

ECON 101 – Principles of Microeconomics
ECON 102 – Principles of Macroeconomics
MATH 104 – Differential Calculus. Acceptable equivalents include MATH 100, MATH 102, MATH 110, MATH 180, MATH 184
ENGL 112* – University Writing. A minimum grade of 60% or "C" is required in English. English courses taken at colleges or universities in countries where English is not the primary language do not satisfy this requirement. ASTU 150, ENGL 100, Arts One or CAP satisfying the Faculty of Arts Writing requirement is acceptable.
A minimum of five of the following second year core courses: COMM 290, 291, 292, 293, 294, 295, 298. No more than one of COMM 296, 391, and 392 may substitute for one of the second year core courses.
* In addition to meeting the English requirement for the BCom program, applicants are also required to meet the English Language Admission Standard for admission to UBC.

Important: Many COMM 29X courses are prerequisites to Year 3 option/specialization courses. While a minimum of five of the above COMM 29X courses is required for admission to Year 3, deficiencies in 29X courses upon admission may delay you from registering in your option choice until the academic session following your admission.

Average required to be considered for admission to Year 3
After you finish the second year of a Commerce Transfer Program at a BC College, you must meet a minimum overall average of 2.50 (calculated on the last 30 credits of your coursework) and a minimum core average of 2.50 on all your Commerce courses (including ECON 201 and 301 or their equivalents).

Guys, if anyone wants help with Fulton 1220, I can help out!

Saw few questions from study guide. So MUST do study guide, econlab and home assignment. He counts 5 of 6. They're really helpful. It's super hard course and teacher is super strict. I got dinged for marks when book was wrong but he said it was mistake and he taught it right. Lots of stuff from his overhead on exams.

I was getting D on first 2 exams, but God knows how I did well enough to get c- overall. Mind you, I didn't do study guide 90%.

Honestly, it's super easy and super hard. If you put time to it, you'll do so well. If you don't, you'll be like me. Most students will be relived passing his course, but for me, I ain't happy that I didn't get A-, because the class gets so easy when you put time to it.

Focus on first 3 chapters as you'll see them in macro as well. Chapter 2 isn't very important, only saw one question from it on exam, and no assignment for it.

Now taking 1221 this semester with giovanetti. Scared as he'll after reading ratemyprof comments about him. So I already have studied 5 chapters. took 1221 with izadpanah in fall 2013, got N. I WAS DOING SO BAD! I didn't write the final to save me embarrassment and not get any F on my transcript.

Well, I prefer N over F. Not many people know what N is outside of post secondary.

Oh, and today was in giovennati class. Boring. Glad I'm already to chap 21.

sorry for grammer, posting on mobile sucks

No.

Pay them or risk a 28 dollar ticket. What Ive done in the past was park in a stall where someone recently left. 8/10 times I never got a ticket

couldnt get into sfu eng with a gpa of 3.0 because they found out I was "kicked out" of UBC. They require a .5 GPA higher than average admission to get in so a 3.3... Thats equivalent to UBC's.
And didnt get into ubc eng... AND on the waitlist for BCIT Eng, may have to wait till Jan 2015

Don't give up! Just keep at it and eventually you'll be rewarded with an admission.

=S it sucks...

UBC admission starts in April 2015 for the summer session and if BCIT Eng accepts me in Jan 2015, I will go BCIT. But if I found out Im accepted into UBC after, do I leave BCIT and go for UBC?!

UBC>BCIT?

UBC if you can get in.

UofT and UBC are the only Canadian schools on this list: http://www.timeshighereducation.co.u...neering-and-IT

A major part of it is about being connected in the field of which you want to
study when you are looking for a job. And most people go to school in hopes of
landing a related job. From my personal experience with College/Uni/IT I have
made way more connections at BCIT and many friends have gotten hired so far
while still in school for part-time until they are finished then full-time. But BCIT
will rape your life while UBC will be a walk in the park.
