CSI:Vegas Grissom's Last Episode (CBS)

Anyone watching? What do you think of Lawrence Fishburn as a replacement. I like him ever since Boys in the Hood. I think he will play a good role for this series.

Berz out.

They should just discontinue it when the main character is gone.

Razor Ramon HG 01-15-2009 08:38 PM

It's going to be different for sure.

mlee_6o4 01-15-2009 08:38 PM

i like grissom.

poofster 01-15-2009 08:39 PM

yeah it's just not gonna be the same without grissom

Berzerker 01-15-2009 08:46 PM

No it wont be the same but they are building a good background for Fishburn's character. The only way people would keep watching is if they think Fishburns character is on the same playing field as Grissom. They are doing a good job of letting him take the reigns and show his "smarts".

i liked him :(
but i hope MORPHEUS can do CSI proud
good ol matrix

Speed2K 01-15-2009 08:51 PM

Forgot this was on tonight. At least I can watch the last little bit.

saucywoman 01-15-2009 08:52 PM

I thought this was an alright episode but I don't know how well CSI will do without Grissom

xyz123 01-15-2009 09:23 PM

i read about this in the newspaper, it's true it's not going to be the same; but hey, change can be good?

SkinnyPupp 01-15-2009 09:36 PM

Grissom was a good character, but he isn't what makes the series good. I'm fine with the move, if he wants to try something else.

Ch28 01-15-2009 09:50 PM

Sara, Warrick + Grissom.

3 of the original 6 are gone now so it will definitely be a different show. I'm not going to write it off for now but it won't be the same for sure. Last season's finale + this season's premiere is still 2 of the most emotional episodes I've watched.

no worries...horatio to the rescue

Warrick's video interview, where he talked about Grissom. Very emotional

+1

I can't believe I passed on this to see only 1 Canuck goal in the end. And a weak and fluky one at that too.

Definitely should've watched this show instead in retrospect.

Speed2K 01-16-2009 04:51 PM

+2 I was watching the 'nucks too! :(

Berzerker 01-16-2009 06:08 PM

Once I saw the Canucks down 4 goals there was no way in hell I was missing CSI for them lol.

I wonder how much Fishburn is making on the series. I think it would have to be alot to get away from the Big Screen.

Goodbye Grissom !

you will be missed

RayBot 01-24-2009 09:37 AM

i never liked Fishburne, but i am open minded to the change...and thus far i have enjoyed watching Dr. Langston as part of the team.

Although Fishburne replaced Peterson as part of the cast, its good that Langston didn't replace Grissom in the roles of the show....that would have been unrealistic and stupid.

I think his background is slowly developing showing indications that he probably had parents that were abusive...maybe.

And its good to see change in the careers of the characters after all these years,....promotion of Willows, change of job to Sanders, retiring of Sidle and Grissom.....and it seems that its foreshadowing that Nick Stokes might get a promotion.

If theres no change....its like watching cartoon where nobody gets older.

phatpower 01-24-2009 10:41 AM

I thought is was the last season for the show anyways but it was sad to see he go it was a good ending and like he said to nick one day when I leave Im going to be a ghost here

No, but he was what made this particular series unique. The other two CSIs are more like run-of-the-mill cop shows, where the lead guy is like a beat cop who CSIs on the side - how often do you see H or Mac actually in the lab vs. running around waving their guns and giving the bad guys their speeches?

The original CSI crew were a bunch of science geeks led by the Uber Science Geek, and that's what really made it fresh in the realm of cop shows. At least with this change, they're keeping with the Uber Science Geek idea, which IMHO is a good thing, as it maintains what made the show special in the first place.

Grissom's departure was really well-done, I thought - at least they didn't kill him off, and they gave him a happy ending. I haven't watched this week's yet, but I've got it recorded. I'm looking forward to it, as I've quite enjoyed Langston so far.

InvisibleSoul 01-24-2009 01:36 PM

Fishburne had never watched an episode of CSI before he was cast to be in it. :p

But yeah, definitely a different feel to the show now...
