first gf i was walking her home and in front of her house i said is it okay if you are my girlfriend... and she said yes... lol i assumed i asked her to be my girlfriend... but yeah kind of corny but it worked 
girlfriend now i asked her on valentines day... after giving her a rose when i picked her up then we had dinner and all that stuff then when i took her home i said i have something in the trunk for you.. and gave her a dozen of roses and asked if she wanted to be my GF and it worked out | |

Sitting down, the girl tells me she's got a surprise for me, and to close my eyes. Suddenly she kisses me. The kiss was the surprise.
I'd say it's got a 50% success rate.
