Need Help Diagnosing Problem

I had lent my car to a friend after leaving town for two days to go buy some HID's for my car, and when I came back i found out that my Gti-R was not what it used to be. Other then finding out that my friend put over 300km's on my car in under 2 days, I noticed that my car would loose power when ever i bring it over 3k RPM, or whenever i go up a hill, it also keeps slowly reving up too.

When i really try to give it some gas, it would rev up to about 3k then just climb up to 7k RPM and go no where for a bit then drop back down to 5k before going anywhere.

I would like to know what you guys think about this problem, my best guess is probably the clutch has gone, but i would like to know what you guys think.

I would say your clutch as well, but the transmission is notorious in the GTi-R's for failing. Hopefully that's not it, because they're also uber expensive.

Any idea on where "your friend" went in those 2 days? It's definitely the clutch.

if a clutch is worn out in 300km it was probably on its last bit of life, thats why its hard to borrow things of vice versa lend thing....is it their fault???....it may of happened to you as well.

I'll agree with that. Most clutches we see out of JDM motors are totally haggard. Many of them barely have rivets left at all.
