There are provincial campsites, I believe. Last time I went, my friend directed me to a logging road, which can be accessed around the park entrance. There are quite a few individual campsites along the road. If you decide to go that route, make sure to take care of the site.

I can't remember whether I signed my name on the sign or not.

Decent site. There was scrap wood in the bushes for the campfire.

The campsite that I went to was on the logging road. As long as no one is currently occupying the site, then it's yours. It doesn't cost anything, but keep in mind: there's no facilities, and you gotta make sure you leave the site the way you arrived. It's pretty much roughing it, except you can get there by car.

There are provincial campsites, I'm sure. Check out the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve site. My tip is to go in June or July. The locals call August, Fog-ust, and I can tell you it's true.
