| returned item on Futureshop.ca
Has anyone been through this scenerio before? I'm trying to understand it better and figure out what can be done about it:
I purchased a camcorder online, and it was shipped on Dec 31st via Canada Post. Apparently Canada Post doesn't know where my work address is, and sent the package back to Futureshop's warehouse in Ontario.
Now its been back and forth between Ontario and here about 3 times, and now the current status shows "Item arrived at postal facility. Item on hold at recipient's request" dated January 26 (in Mississauga, Ont). When I called Canada Post, they said it was Futureshop's request to have it on hold.
When I called futureshop, they guy said Canada Post will deliver it to the warehouse. But its been "on hold" for a week already.
I already spoke to 5 people at futureshop's call centre about this, including a supervisor. Yet nothing seems to be done.
Anyone have any idea whats going on here?? I just want my damn refund!!
And if my credit card statement comes before I get my refund, does anyone know if Future Shop is liable to compensate for any interest accrued?

What's the situation?
That you
a) never got the package and have given up
b) you received the package, didn't like it and are returning it
It's a bit unclear from the post. In any event, I can't help you with FS, but if there's an issue, call your Credit Card company and let them know of the issue. I don't think that FS will compensate any Credit Card interest.

that interest should be that big if you minus all your other credit card expenses as well.....have you tried going to an actual store and talking to a manager or GM? those people usually have contacts they can talk to and help you out with.

i had a double charge ( almost the similar situation - i guess) , paid for something i didnt get.
I called RBC Visa, explained situation , they said they would have to look intoit , will take about a week and if its valid , any interest accrued as a result will be invalid , i was advised to pay the bill less the amount.
10days or so later , got a call back , said credits on its way , issue resolved!
got the credit , n i was a happy camper!

you're right, the interest isn't that big in terms of a monetary value. Its more so the principle I'm after.
What happened was I ordered the camcorder, and it never arrived at all. The package went back and forth between Ontario and BC several times. Because this was a gift for someone, and needed within a certain time frame, I went to a local Future Shop and purchased the same camcorder there, as suggested by the call centre rep. The rep said they will place a lost shipment trace on it and I will receive my credit as soon as the warehouse receives the package back.
What gets me is that its sitting at a postal facility, placed on hold as per Future Shop's request, yet they aren't doing anything about it. The crappy part is there are two companies involved, and neither is taking ownership of this situation, each blaming the other company.
I'll give my c/c company a call in a bit, see what they say/can do about it. Hopefully something will be done soon, I want to be a happy camper too! Especially before heading off to Hawaii! (another reason why I needed the camcorder!)
