The 10 Best Used Cars for Less Than $5,000

http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=141346

Or $6000CDN? Seems pretty complete - I think I considered all the cars listed here before I bought mine.

enjoy.

not sure how the exchange rate would work... for example a $6000 impreza 2.5RS would have to be really ratbagged or has a blown head gasket

Plus market values vary widely. I have a 1990 Miata, and had been keeping an eye on prices the last few months.

Locally $6000 will not buy a 2nd gen Miata (after 1999). $6000 is more a great condition 1.6L (1990-1993?) or an average condition 1.8L (1994-1997).

Also, the majority of local 240SX's for sale in the GVRD are high mileage and have at least some amount of rust.

However, still a good list of decent and (relatively) cheap used cars.

I think used cars on the east coast of the US are much lower due to rust issues...Maybe it should be less than $10,000.

Used car prices are lower in the states (just search Seattle's Craigslist ads - and Seattle should have higher used car prices than the rest of the states).

Used car prices in BC, especially the South Coast (Vancouver/Victoria) are pretty much the highest in Canada.
