I think nowadays, Int shafts all take senior blades. The last company to have Int blades was Easton, but I don't think they manufacture 3 sizes of blades anymore.

Any standard SR blade will fit. I've never had issues with composite blades but on certain wood hosels you may need to shim it with a little tape.

As for INT blades they haven't been made for some time like m3thods mentioned. I believe the last INT blade was the Synthesis.

The only INT shaft that took a JR blade was the Mission L-2 IIRC. That was released around the same time as the Synthesis as well. Both were tapered so you have nothing to worry about.

^Yes they work on any item, sale or regular price. They may not work on doorcrasher items, though.

Check on the City of Vancouver and 8 Rinks' websites. They usually have cheap ice during long weekends and the winter break.

Outside of these times, any session starting at 11pm or later will be your only bets.

http://vancouver.ca/parks-recreation...k-rentals.aspx

"Special $99 rink rental rate booking time

This rate applies for rentals not requiring skate rentals.

Season Dates available
Pre-season 2014 * August 18 –September 1, 2014
Winter Holiday Ice December 20, 2014 - January 4, 2015
Spring Break Ice March 9, 2015 - March 31, 2015 "

Here ya go, I've done it a couple times already. I usually rent for 2hrs. 200 bucks split between 20 skaters is only 10 bucks a person. It's pretty sweet.

I love the 9. It's a ReAkt with better padding imo. No gimmicky suspend liner. This is coming from someone who currently rocks a ReAkt. The ReAkt fits my big round head like nothing out there. It's almost too comfy. But I think the IMS 9 is even better, if that's possible.

I picked up some Sherwood Nexon N10s at Sport Chek for 60ish a piece. Holy cow what a deal. My last one piece was a Nike Bauer one40 made of fiberglass. Even for a year old stick, sticks just under top of the line are so well made nowadays that it's going to be a lot easier to ditch looking for blades and just go with closeout OPSs.

ccm v04
bauer 4500

reakt fits like a dream though ( i have the older one). the newer model looks even better, but i havnt tried that one on yet

New one fits pretty much the same, with newer foams and better adjustment being the key selling points. But at almost 300 a pop for the combo, it's a real rip-off. That makes the 9.0 look so much more appealing price-wise, as it's just as good as the original ReAkt fit-wise.

yeah helmet prices are getting outrageous

but where theres a concern (concussions) comes a chance to cash in obviously. like a tiger pouncing on fresh meat

which is of valid concern but i've never taken a major head hit.. so replacing the helmet in it's entirety is pointless. those dumbass foam inserts come apart/move and get hard over time.

it's more of comfort, my head starts to hurt from the pressure on my temples and i'm forced to adjust and loosen it a bit.

$120+tax for an IMS 7 isn't that bad but that could be money saved.

Also, I recently lost my mouth guard and got these custom fitted ones from http://www.protectguards.com/

if i'm going to pay $40ish for a under armor boil/bite i might as well pay a bit more for a personalized fitted one with design.

only took 3 days for them to complete it.

Fit is still the most important factor in choosing a helmet. It doesn't matter how expensive or what type of technology is in the helmet, if it doesn't fit properly it won't protect you.

I run the same stick, cut a little short with the same curve. It's an awesome stick for shooting, whippy as ufck and great for working in tight areas. Can't slapshot to save my own life with it though.....

That's what the Synergy HTX is for.

Total One are great sticks. I use them exclusively in net.
But ever since Dorsett gave us that Synergy, I've really been taken by the Eastons. I can snap a puck wherever I want to with this stick, and every shot is hard and fast.

Would I spend $220 of my own money on one?
Not sure.... I don't trust the quality of Easton blades, and at that price point I'm open to a lot of options.

That said, I bought my son a Total One NXG for Xmas. He wanted the Easton V9e, but after taking some shots he went with the Bauer. They definitely make some great sticks.
