Leasing Maintenance

My Girlfriend has a leased car and has been getting her car serviced at mazda for basic oil changes just curious does she have to go to the dealer to get the car serviced?

Check out the thread I started yesterday

some related info. To answer your question, no you don't need to have it serviced at the dealer.

do you even have to service the vehicle thru out the term if youre planning to return it after the lease term ends?
just drive the shit out of it for three years without spending any money other than insurance and gas.

You have to service it, even if its not at the dealer. If you drive the shit out of it for 3 years and something fails because you didn't service it (like didn't change the oil and whatnot) then your warranty will be void.

If the car has more then normal wear and tear, I'm pretty sure there is a charge you would have to pay.

And it's because of this, I will never buy a lease return.

lease return is a very bad idea. after seeing how ppl bag on their lease cars. My uncle when he return his Cadillac the driver door never locks, the rest of the door will act up occasionally, makes ticking sound when accelerating. to top that off the car is bone stock but it sits suspiciously low. Uncle claims that it was like that ever since a very fat client sat in his car.

my family's had lease car before too and its basically a beater.

I never took my leased car to the dealer for maintenance, I just did the regular oil changes and changed the brake pads myself.
