Snowboarding Goggles
 

I am currently using Dragon goggles, i'm not sure what model it is and it fogs up because i'm using a bavaclava face warmer thing. What goggles do you recommend me to get that will not fog up as much when I'm using my face warmer? I'm not sure what goggles go for since I'm using my GF's bro's goggles, could you guys give me a list of what goggles I should look at and the price range I would be looking at for each?

Ive got some Spy Soldier gogs that seem to be working quite well. bought em online for around $60 (regular $140) and threw in a second set of lenses (dark smoke mirror for sunny, persimmon for everything else) for another $30

That's a seriously subjective question. Dragons make quality goggles along with Smith's, Spy's, Oakley's etc. IMO, most of the time, the fogging is the result of improper selection of goggles. You just gotta shop around goggles that fit the contours of your face perfectly.

My dragun Mace goggles haven't had any fogging problems before, even on 8 hour boarding trips. I ended up paying around 120 for them I think

Well I'm using one of those bavaclava's, face mask thing, and my exhale is coming up top and entering the bottom of my goggles. The bavaclava fits perfectly, it's snug and pretty tight but it seems to be impossible to find a better fitting bavaclava. Am I pretty much out of luck and have to tough it out without the bavaclava, or is there a goggle out there that would somehow work with it?

These days anything by most recognized goggles manufacturers (e.g. Anon, Smith, Spy, Oakley, VZ, etc.) won't fog unless you're wearing something that impedes your breath. I base my goggles choices on fit, available lens tints, and breadth of vision. That being said, by frequenting other snowboard sites I've read that there are higher occurances of fogging in Dragon's and Electric's. How true that actually is, I don't know.

I think the problem doesn't lie with the goggles but with the clava. You said it yourself that your breath channelled into the goggles by your facemask is what causes the fogging. So either pull the clava down under your nose so you can breath through your nose, or poke a bunch of small holes (when I say small, I mean smaaaaaalllll) in your balaclava where your mouth is.

Or buy a more breathable balaclava. I've heard great things about the Under Armour Cold Gear Hood. I want to pick one up for next season.

Oh and if you end up buying new goggles anyway, try goggles on before you buy. Make sure there are no gaps between the foam and your face. The most common place for a gap is in the nose bridge area.

I regularly wear either my Von Zipper Feenoms or Spy Soldiers. I have some old Scott goggles that I have as backup. None fog on me unless I wear my balaclava over my nose and mouth (usually I just have it just cover my mouth).

my clava has hole on the mouth already, its the bula brand i got from cypress. You're right, my breath is causing condensation on my goggles, it's coming from inside my clava underneath my goggles.

ww? post is bang on, you really can't cover your mouth with a balaclava or neoprene mask without risking fog :(

Get a better balaclava I guess. I'm not a fan of those Bula neoprene masks. You cant pull em down under your nose.
