Some of the cast from out of town from the film I'm working on have been craving Chinese style king crab, so Monday we hit Sun Shi Wah and last night we hit Bing Sheng.
Surprisingly, despite their lack of hard alcohol, everyone actually enjoyed Bing Sheng more. For the 7 of us we ordered 3 king crabs, two 10 pounders and a 13 pounder, 1st course was steamed with garlic and served with butter, 2nd course was fried in spice/peppers/jalapeno and 3rd course was rice in a coconut curry sauce served in the shells of the king crabs.

the shell weights a ton by itself, so all in all 33 pounds of crab probably gives at most 20 pounds of meat, /7 that's only 3 per head

| I had King Crab a couple of weeks ago at Pelican Restaurant on Hastings. It's $12.80/lb there. We had it three ways: garlic and onion, deep fried salt and pepper and curried rice. So yummy! I normally don't eat crab but king crab meat is so good. I noticed Kirin's King Crab goes for $13.80/lb. Surely, that's a rip-off. Yes, T&T sells it for about $10/lb. |
