| Pontiac G8 GT 6sp
So I was on a car site and this crazy price came up for a Pontiac G8. I am curious if anyone has heard any real-world purchase prices for this car. The base V8 (365ish HP) version retails for about $35G's as far as I know, but seeing as new cars are basically free from domestic and Korean car makers right now, I wonder how much lower they would go... Also I am curious if it can be had with a manual transmission. I have found conflicting reports.
Would be an awesome car if you ask me, basically a Holden SS underneath.

I can't answer any of your questions, but I've seen a couple on the dyno and they all made good power. They look quite good as well, and interior is really nice. I thought it was a pretty sweet car. Then at college I was talking with a student about cars, and this girl who knew a ton about cars said she had driven one for a week, and thought it was one of the most awful cars she had ever driven. Said its handling was horrible, really uncommunicative, and just totally bland... I was surprised. So my suggestion is to go take one for a test drive right now before you invest too much time into it. I'm sure the Wheaton has a couple on the lot right now.

the G8 GT is only available with a 6 speed auto and the GXP is available with a six speed manual. a guy here in Vic dynoed his stock G8 at 294whp. with simple mods like a cai and an ecm tune bumped that up to 334whp. you can get headers, cams, full exhaust systems and suspension systems to make a killer ride.

G8 Is Aussie (Holden), with GM powertrain. MSRP on the GT with leather, roof, and a few other goodies is just north of 42k. There is a $7500 rebate right now, and i'm sure the right dealer will flex a bit more (i would).
The G8 is surprisingly quiet when it runs (which tells me exhaust restriction & free horsepower). Its also ridiculously quick for a sedan, and all reviewers praise it, especially against the likes of the Dodge Charger etc. Look for Top Gears review where Jeremy Clarkson drives the Holden version, even he praises it.

I've seen some decent dyno gains from just a reflash , as the are tuned on 87 octane stock.
I've seen as high a 330whp on intake and tune.
