You won't have a problem. Usually the 6 month rule is if you require a Visa and then the immigration office might hassle you, but since you can just enter and leave HK, you should be fine.

Do you have an HKID? You can use that to enter HK.

Ezekiel 25:17. The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.

does anyone know if your passport expires at a later date and you apply earlier...does that mean your new passport will commence on the date the old one expires or on the date you renew?

Since you HK Visa will expire in July, it doesn't matter that your passport expires in November.

Some countries are anal about having a passport that lasts at least 6 months though, I believe Thailand is one of them. HK doesn't care though.
