MV Augusta?

Heard these are the best bikes around. I'm not a bike guy but I was just wondering. Specs? Opinions? How Much?

They're comparable to the ferrari of motorcycles, supposed to be some of the best out there (handling and speedwise) they do low production numbers, high quality, and compete with the likes of ducati.
As far as I'm aware to get one of their current bikes new you'd be looking at 15-25 grand US before taxes

lexluthor09 04-24-2009 11:24 PM

Well first off they're not allowed in Canada (some exceptions).
But with Harley Davidson aquiring them we might see some soon.

They are like the best of the best bikes. The most expensive one being a limited edition F4 costing like 120 000$. Cheapest being around 20 000$

I believe most of their sport bikes make around 190hp.

WHEYsted 04-25-2009 12:16 PM

Wow, thanks for the info. I'll probably be picking up one of these babies when they come to Canada!

racerman88 04-25-2009 05:49 PM

they are supposed to be made available soon to Canada. You might as well look into the Ducati 1098's, 1198's and the Aprillia's as well. All nice bikes.
If you are a new rider then don't bother b/c they are all too much bike for a new rider.

make sure you have learned how to get rid of that chicken strips first

the MV Agusta F4 1078 is one of my favorite bikes. but that being said, its getting dated and the new Ducati 1198 and the Aprilia RSV4, as well as all 4 bikes from Japan, blow it out of the water.

there is talk of them being made available as early as 2011 with Harley Davidson buying the company. unfortunately the cheif designer, Massimo Tamburini has stepped down from the company, and Im afraid the bikes might go in a different dirrection.

Timpo 05-15-2009 01:25 PM

I don't know if they're best bikes but one of the MOST EXPENSIVE for sure

Timpo 05-15-2009 01:26 PM

oh yeah, other Italian bikes are cool...Ducati and Bimota.

Kinda off topic, but is Bimota available in Canada? I have never seen one...

stevo911_ 05-15-2009 06:06 PM

AFAIK none of the modern Bimota's are available in Canada.
Theres a few Benellis around though which are pretty cool

Timpo 05-16-2009 10:41 PM

is it possible to import a Bimota from the states?

it's so nice!

Timpo 05-18-2009 06:00 PM

racerman88 05-31-2009 04:24 PM

RRxtar 05-31-2009 10:53 PM

Trev Deeley has a MV Agusta F4CC on display. that bike is more rare than some of the most rare supercars. and sells for $120,000

OPP racing also has an MV Agusta F4 in full carbon fiber.

You rang? Yup we have a fully CF MV Agusta F4 1000. Its a beautiful bike that is for sure. When these pics were taken we did not have the CF tank or airbox installed. This bike will be displayed at Laguna Seca in July along with our CF 1198, CF 600RR and CF 1000RR.

The DB7 ins an interesting bike.
Its running a 1098 motor with Bimoto's own frame and suspension. Reviews of the bike are quite favorable but Bimoto doesn't have the greatest rep with there street bikes.

Yeah I just realized that since I am not even a rider yet but on my way to becoming one. I shouldn't even bother with a bike like this until I am experienced. Way too much power for beginners.

I have never compared them, but I doubt Ducati, Bimota or AV Agusta are any faster than CBR, Ninja, R1 or Hayabusa.

They're all about the same.

If i may suggest, a more plausible option (which is already in Canada now, i know these posts are rather old) is the MV Agusta F3 which is the 675 triple cylinder and the Brutale 675 which has the same engine but is a naked style bike. Both beautiful engines and a lot more affordable that the F4. Nicer bike in my opinion.

CharlieH 02-11-2012 02:01 PM

f3's so expensive for a 600cc class though. if you want a rare and pretty 600 go for the new daytona 675R. pretty much race ready out of the box.
