Maybe.. but why are there 3 older asians standing around?
Driving by there today, looks like they were going for left turn with a case of major under steer and sailed over the island and into the trees (tire marks going over it)...they must have been going damn fast
They come pretty well equipped though, you get quite a lot more car compared to a loaded GTI
the R comes fully loaded with nav, keyless, leather, sunroof, 18's, and more which are all options on the GTI
Add a high tech awd system and a lot more power and it's not looking like such bad value.
Doesn't necessarily run with STI's/Evo's but you're also getting a more solid feeling car with a much better interior
