Actually, New West is less than Delta, almost half. Victoria is much closer to Surrey in size.

Our government also seems to forget how big the island population is. Which is odd considering where the legislature sits.

You also have to consider that we aren't buying stuff because its nice, but making investments for growth. Traditionally, the island is not a growth region.

The island is growing rapidly.

for population reference.

The lower mainland has roughly 2 550 000

Vancouver island had 656,312 in 2001, in 2004 we had 734,860.

I wouldnt be surprised if there was close to 900 000 now.We represent nearly 25% of the provinces population. The liberals would do well to pay attenion to us.

Not that im an NDP supporter in any way.

For some reason I thought Conservatives had more of a hold on the island. But then again, I never bothered to look up the stats.
