Hi Frank,

The couch is still available and can be picked up anytime that works for you. I have a very flexible schedule. It would be best if it could be picked up by Thursday evening however. Otherwise sometime next week may have to work. Let me know what works best for you and I will make it work!

Thanks,
Rob Clunes

Thanks for the email, i am extremely interested in the Couch/Chaise + Chair Set and will make payment available immediately. I am presently out of town but will instruct a client of mine to send you a certified check as soon as i get your info.

A check of $3500 will be sent to you as soon as you receive it deduct your part which is $950 and send the excess to my carrier who will be responsible for the pick up. Will make sure the check is cleared before coming for pick up.

Email me back as soon as possible with your name and address to send you the funds.I will appreciate if you can send me more pictures if available.

Regards
Frank

yea that is a scam. i get those all the time when i post craigslist ads. majority of them will tell u they are handicapped in some way that u can only contact them via email. in other words no person to person contact. then they'll sweet talk the deal by saying the money will be transferred even before u ship out ur product. this is their hook and bait. do not ever fall for it. just deal locally and always ask for a contact number just so u know the buyer is local.

I thought so. Sounded fishy once he said he would send me $3500 hahaha I mean damn I could just keep it (if it were real). This was my reply:

I appreciate your interest in the couch, however I insist on having your client pay myself and the carrier separately. Is it possible to send the money via money mart or western union? I know they charge a percentage fee which you can deduct from the over all price of the couch. Or if your client is in the area I could meet them and pick up cash? Or maybe having the carrier bring cash when they come to pick it up? This is my fisrt time selling stuff online and am werry of all the horror stories out there. Im sure you can understand my concern.

I will attach all the pictures I have of the couch and you can let me know if you would like more.

Please let me know if you are still interested

I will update if I ever hear back from "Frank" LOL

ive replied before as well and there's really no point and ur wasting ur time becuz that email u got from "frank" is an automated email. No one is gonna read it and no one is gonna respond back. When u see emails like that just ignore and delete.

nearly the exact same email was sent to my friend who was selling her car. the only difference was they said they lived in toronto, and my friend lives in bby. who buys a car without testing driving it or get some background check!?

Dear Frank,

Instead of writing me a check for 3500, why not make it for the exact amount of 950. you can save your carrier some and I some time. look forward to your response.

Actually, a coworker of mine did that (sold his car). The only info the guy had on this car was the VIN and a bunch of photos my coworker sent him. Buyer was legit.

On Craigslist, either it's Local sale or it's a scam. Specialized forums are quite different though. I buy and sell parts for my car all the time with other members in the States and Europe.

And NEVER accept a Cashier's cheque. Bank drafts I'd assume are okay.
