Anyone work at an optical store?

I am asking because I was fitted with contact lens many years ago when my glasses prescription was -9.0 (yes, I am as blind as bat), so I was given contact lens with a power of -8.0. I've read that this is normal because when the contacts are closer to the eye, the power for nearsighted people is usually less.

Now that my sight has gotten worse, now my new prescription is -9.25.
Based on that, my contact prescription should be -8.25 (- 1.0 weaker than my glasses), however, the contact lens I've looked at online are not made in quarter strenghts.

My question: Should I order -8.0 or -8.50? If I were to order -8.50, would that extra -.25 change my nearsightedness to -9.50?

you can't just ask a question like that on the net, there's other factors that need to be accounted for before someone gives you a prescription, for example one would need to know whether you have cyl. in your prescription to properly adjust for that etc.
