EAT! Vancouver - May22-24, 2009 http://eat-vancouver.com/ Anyone going? Buy your tickets online for $12, save $3 from the regular price. I'll be going tomrorow. :) |
I'll probably be going. I skipped it last year so hopefully they have some good exhibits :D |
Volunteered here last year to get out of school. :P |
It's not worth going. The portion size is small, and the food are expensive for what you get. |
how does this work? $12 dollar for ticket just to in? than inside foods are additional? |
Yup.. 12 dollars is for admission.. then you have to buy tickets for the beer garden and food stands.. I went a few times in the past.. it keeps getting worse imo.. - less samples - more expensive vendor food - same shops show up each year It is very similar to the nibble and bites in richmond.. or taste of vancouver events.. but this one is of a larger scale .. |
I'll be going on saturday :) |
is tojos gonna be there again with bob blumer?? |
geez, so u dun get unlimited food? Damn, I thot it it's like $12 AYCE. I might re-think about going |
^WTF?! :lol |

I didn't get caesar salad, beef gravy, soups, and the Fuze. ..don't even know where those are lol. Did any of you sit down at any of the stages? I did...mmmm beer! http://604foodtography.wordpress.com...-beer-tasting/ |
This event was not worth the $$$. I was expecting something similar to Ottawa's Wine and Food show, and was very disappointed. When I moved here I searched for a similar event, its one of the things I missed about Ottawa, so I had this in my calendar for months. The quality of the vendors food was subpar, basically cheap ethnic fast food I could get anywhere for about the same price. At the Ottawa show the vendors have seats at their booths and serve amazing food, albeit for a higher price. This event would be better with more local restaurants participating and serving small tastes of their menus. I cannot believe there was an entire row of non-food vendors. Its a food show, not a travel show! The only fun part was the alcohol section, yet after 4 laps and trying every booze vendor we left. We had a lot of tickets, figured we'd get drunk since the event was a bust. This event would be better if the alcohol section was 2-3 times bigger and featured more BC wineries. I did manage to eat 9 galub jamons! mmmmm where can I get these in Vancouver (I live in Kits) without having to sit and eat at a restaurant? |
