Second time up the grouse grind, and shaved 8 minutes off my first time. 54 minutes.

i was always in the 40 - 45 minute range
remotely remeber one time MAYBE 38 minutes ... not sure tho ~

and then always so depressing when you see on the screen showing everyone doing it under 25 minutes

*note* dont walk down
haha ... hurts like hell ... remember the first time i did it ~ didn't know you can ride tram down for cheap ... walked down ~ REGRET

Just did my 3rd run of the Grind yesterday finishing at 51m. Yesterday sucked.....by the time u hit the top, its so chilly that the sweat on your head freezes.

My next run is two weeks...and hoping to hit the 40s range.

that's an odd statement to making in the middle of july. by the time i get to the top, it could be 5 degrees, but i'd still be way too warm for anything more than a t-shirt and a pair of shorts. i think maybe you're exaggerating *slightly*

Yesterday was on the verge of rain, but the weather seemed to hold up. Still, i was wearing shorts and a t,....it wasn't cold at all. But at the top, there was a breeze good enough to create frost off the top of your head.

I did it 2 times this week
First one was a very slow pace with many breaks coming in at 2:30 hours
Second one was better with waiting breaks for slower friends coming in at 1:08 hours

I feel pretty good, but i got quite a few bites on me.
Can't wait to do it again.

How is the Grind on Sunday mornings these days? I'm thinking about doing it this Sunday, but I want to go early enough to avoid the Lululemon hordes...

I'll probably do a short 2K sprint before I take the drive up there just to get my heart and thighs pumping. I'm in decent (though not spectacular shape) and I'm aiming for a time in the mid to low-50s.

I went on Sunday morning and I arrived a little bit later than I wanted to - 10:15ish. The Grind on Sunday mornings is packed beyond belief and if I had a choice, I'd definitely do it on weekday mornings as opposed to weekends.

I finished it in just a few ticks above 56 minutes. I wasn't entirely happy with my time, but considering the amount of traffic, it was a decent first run this season. I felt pretty good until about the 3/4 mark - my body felt like I had hit a wall. I probably didn't have enough food before heading up there, or I needed Gatorade instead of plain water. When I saw the clearing, I tried to run the last 200 metres, but my legs quit after 10-15 seconds. But, there was no soreness in my thighs the next day which means I can probably go harder next time.

Hmm, well cardio-wise, I felt no worse than what I would normally feel during a hard run (for me, a hard run is a 4:30/km pace.) I cross-train with a couple of 5K runs a week and dragonboat twice a week (which is akin to sprinting for 3-5 minutes at a time.) I guess it's kinda hard to describe what "hitting a wall" means. Maybe it was a lack of food? (I only had some cereal and a couple of granola bars before I headed up.)
