Ford has not released any pricing info to dealers yet, nor are there any solid delivery dates.

Of course it will be aimed square at the Fit and Yaris, hence the pricing will be similar or better for comparable models.

As soon as anything pops up on inford.com I will let you know.

I'd take the Fiesta over the Mazda2 because of the funkier interior. It'd actually make a good daily driver/beater if the lease was good enough with 0 down.

Mazda's CEO annouced that he has plans to bring the Mazda2 to Canada, but there is no timeline or information further to that.

The Feista is definately coming, and will be here well ahead of the Mazda2 if that ever does get here. As soon as Ford posts the order guides w/ available options etc etc I will let ya'll know.

Ford's have come a long way and I honestly wouldn't mind getting one. Sat in one of their newer SUVs (forgot the name) and was pretty impressed with the interior. Felt like I was in a Japanese car.

And MajinHurricane is right - you're paying more for the same car but with Mazda badging. Why should you?

Thanks Timpo.

The majority of owners, even those on RS, that are looking at the Fiesta/Yaris/Fit/Mz2 don't buy 'em because of the potential it may have when modified... they buy 'em because they're good city cars with (typically) excellent fuel mileage.

Yes, and I'm sure everyone cares about the aesthetics of the car. I'm simply chiming in on my personal preference with picture proof of why I think the Mazda2 looks better, not perform better. I do not speak for the whole "majority" of the owner.

I don't think the Mazda2 looks much better or worse than the Fiesta. They look pretty much the same, to be honest - just like the B-series truck/Ranger, and Escape/Tribute. They are the SAME VEHICLE, with the SAME WARRANTY and the SAME QUALITY, the only difference is the Mazda costs more because people THINK it's a better product because of the Japanese name.

The only reason why someone would choose the equivalent Mazda over the Ford is a pre-conception that the Mazda is built in Japan and therefore better. Ford is trying hard to change that conception but unfortunately the world is full of Timpos.
