What do you strive for in the gym?

Whether you want to be HUGE like Arnold, or a killing machine like GSP, your idea of "the perfect body" has to be different from this fitness ad I spotted today (in HK):

SkinnyPupp 06-09-2009 08:31 AM

Personally, this is what I consider to be the "perfect" body. Not something I could ever hope for, or even want to try to attempt:

Frank Zane, before the steroids craze ruined everything for weightlifters :lol

penner2k 06-09-2009 09:51 AM

The scary thing is there are naturals now that are getting up to Arnolds size.
Then again Arnold was never the biggest bodybuilder. He was big but his thing was how perfectly everything went together.
That picture of Frank Zane is pretty sweet though.

RacePace 06-09-2009 12:39 PM

Shit, I might as well go to HK and model

I used to want to be big, but not anymore. I like being leaner and having more flexibility. (Most) sports are difficult when you're bulky

ChaKo 06-09-2009 01:21 PM

does anybody know what it actually says? maybe it's saying join the gym if you don't want to end up like this guy

BlackV62K2 06-09-2009 02:01 PM

For me, I'm trying to get to a solid 195lbs with low bodyfat. I'm about 5'10-5'11.

yeah, you have to be on some kind of juice to hit that size

SkinnyPupp 06-09-2009 07:06 PM

The only thing "natural" about "natural" body building is that they time their cycles so they can pass a piss test before the competition takes place.

kAzE- 06-09-2009 07:15 PM

I strive to lift heavy. The aesthetics just come with it.

Berzerker 06-09-2009 08:23 PM

One day I'll be as big as I want to be... dunno how big that is yet though but I'm sure I'll know when I get there haha.

Berz out.

hal0g0dv2 06-09-2009 08:30 PM

if you didn't pack your own food before you left your house, how much do u really care about getting shredded

L0uie69 06-09-2009 10:13 PM

bigger, stronger, faster

simsimi1004 06-09-2009 11:59 PM

bruce lee.
slim but all muscle

SkinnyPupp 06-10-2009 12:34 AM

Ah, the bodybuilding icon for Asians ;)

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_WLfu_ImGDB...MyHero.jpg.png

He is slim, that's for sure. He never had much in the way of muscle mass though.. A lot of the Bruce Lee stuff is more legend than reality. Your image of his physique is probably more based on movie posters and statues than his actual body ;)

RacePace 06-10-2009 06:39 AM

Well there are a lot of quotes from famous people that say how incredible his body was. His incredibly low body fat level was dangerous though

7seven 06-10-2009 06:51 AM

Currently I have a similar physique and build as GSP, 5'10 187lbs, just stepped on the scale this morning. My goal when I first started training was always to get built like Arnold, but obviously I've fallen way short of that goal, lol.

RRxtar 06-10-2009 08:17 AM

my new goal is to look like the fighter i created in UFC 2009.

taylor192 06-10-2009 11:34 AM

I strive to see hot women in lululemon tight clothing on the ecliptical trainers infront of me while I run on the treadmill. :angel2:

Full`Throttle 06-10-2009 12:24 PM

I strive to look like that honger in the ad

dark0821 06-10-2009 12:44 PM

what the fuck is wrong with this thread LOL

those never get old

CanadaGoose 06-10-2009 09:48 PM

My goal is to be the equivalant of a pitbulls physique

Lean, brutal, agile... basically like GSP

Some more mass over my arms and shoulders would be good, but I'd rather have striations and vascularity over bulk.

TRDood 06-10-2009 11:23 PM

something like this would be ideal:

http://seoulbeats.com/wp-content/upl...seoulbeats.jpg

minus the fucked up hair, i am just saying about the upper body.

some may say it's too skinny, but that's what i think is a decent body. being too big is ugly.
