Dry/cracked skin

I don't know how to describe it. It's not like I have dry skin, but more like my arms and lower legs 'seem' dry and as a result is flakey from scratching and from the hot-dry temperature.

Is there a lotion or cream you guys recommend for flakey-dry skin?
Item doesn't have to be local, I'll also consider RS sponsors.

it could be mild exzema (or however you spell it)

It probably wouldn't hurt to go to your doc to ask what is the best cream for your skin.

Sounds like eczema, over the counter eczema cream doesn't seem to work too well ( at least for me), I'd go get a prescription cream from the doctors. I know they have different types of cream...one being cortisone.

nah.
it only started when spring began. :) pretty sure it's dry skin due to the hot weather.
Never had skin problems/issues.
just thought there'd be a cream for dry skin.

Sometimes skin problems randomly occur, I know psoriasis snuck up on me when I was 13 years old.

I'm getting hit pretty hard with it right now. In no time will I become the tree man :lol

Drink more water. Like beyond your thirst.

yeah I heard it's really hard to get over-hydrated.

if you drink too much, you'll just piss it out anyways.

way2quik 06-14-2009 07:07 PM

I never really noticed I have been drinking water less and less by the day.
I'll keep that in mind.
Thanks.

get a check up with your doctor and or a dermatologist if it is bad. If you have tried over the counter stuff and that doesn't work I would go that route. Have you tried gold bond? The commercials make it seem like a cure...

murd0c 06-21-2009 10:38 AM

honestly the best thing to use is just plain only vasaline, My g/f used to have dry skin and then she started putting it on her body once a month and WOW it's smooth and stops the dryness.

I have a bit of eczema that leads to dry skin. IMPRUV lotion is VERY good, but VERY expensive. I think it's about 30 bucks for 150ML. After you put it on your face, it gets kind of oily =s so don't put too much. Legs and arms, I use GlaxalBase. Very nice, if your skin isn't THAT dry.

Psykopathik 06-23-2009 03:03 PM

water first, then medicine.

Thumbs up for Glysomed coming from an ashy guy.
