How do you call a cab? First off I am very ashamed posting this question, so I apolgize if I sound like a dumbass. I have taken tons of cabs before when on vacation, but Its been at tourist locations with tons of cabs around. Anywas living here in vancouver I have been spoiled with a car and if I dont have that I can get around to where I want with transit thus never taken a cab... Anyways to get to the point. I need to get to a remote area in Richmond that transit doesnt go on (#8 road), I will be taking transit to richmond centre and from there planning on taking a cab). So how about do I do this? Do I have to call a cab company to pick me up? find a cab around the mall?.... |
Pick up the phone..... dial the desired cab company number...... tell them you will need to be picked up at richmond center ..... ????? ....... profit!!!! |
haha thanks! ya stupid question..god im a dumbass |
Eh just make sure they purposely take longer routes just to get more cash out of you. |
#TAXI from your mobile phone works too |

There's a fee so watch out. |
Hmm I wish Vancouver is like Hong Kong or Taiwan, where you just wave your hand out on the street and some Taxi driver will be in front of you at no time! |

richmond centre might have a designated phone that will call the cab company. Just ask Customer Service. |
I know metrotown has one. Or had. |
During the peak hours, there is usually a cab parked at Richmond Centre near the B-line stop as well. |

^ lol that made my day.. dam now igota go work |
sometimes the cabs get grumpy if ur going a short distance, Once my friend was at the airport and lived in terra nova and the cab was like mumbling to himself how shitty it is that ppl just go such short distances, and how he has to drive back to the airport and stuff like that wasting his time |

yup #TAXI connects you to the nearest available cab in any Canadian city. I think it costs $1.25? but there might be a monthly fee. alternately call 411 |
Why not just google text? Taxi (city name) bc Text it to 466453 (GOOGLE) Standard text rate = usually included/free |
^ I thought it was GOOGL. there's a lot of stuff you can get from there tho |
Nope, it's GOOGLE/466453. I just tried it when I read this thread and saw no one suggested it. It's my free alternative to 411 since I don't have a data phone. |
