Downtown failed parking (Young driver with Maserati)

Saw some 18yo looking guy parking it, heard the rim scrap the curb... ouch

took this pic for proof.

Eh, people curb their wheels all the time. Just walk down the street. 80% of cars out there have curbed wheels, and not everyone gives a crap whether or not their rims are in pristine condition.

With that said, I have no idea why they don't just design curbs in this part of the world to have a slant like a 60deg incline instead of a 90deg drop. That would save a ton of rims.

Why is everyone freaking? It's not like he flipped that car into a pole.

I think those curbs are designed to also help protect pedestrians. Otherwise there would be stupid people easily hopping the curbs and running into pedestrians..

Too much for a 18 year old kid to handle, even if they shit 50's and wipe with 100's. At least get your kid a nice little 5 Series/E-Class.

this must be the convo he had with his dad after he got home.

SON: but daddddddd, I NEED to buy a set of rims for $22,616 cuz i accidentally curbed my rims. I mean you bought me my license anyways right dad? So it IS YOUR fault!

DAD: ok son. why don't you just go buy a murcie lp670 instead.

He can always just get the rim replaced or whatnot. It's not like he dented half the side of his car..

It probably wasn't a valet, but last night I saw a vantage parked in the exact same spot and it was right against the curb.

I don't think we should assume that the guy can't handle a granturismo I mean if a young guy made it somewhere in a 400 hp car without wrapping it around a pole, that probably means he can "handle" the car, parallel parking isn't what parents generally freak out about when they give their son the keys to a 400hp car...
